I wish I had known this a week ago but I didn't, so here it is as a thread's title, easier to notice.

Thanks for the info! I am using NeoScene so far and I am quite happy with it. But the timecodefeature interests me and I´ll check it out soon.

Any words on a quality comparison between the two, NeoScene and 5d2rgb?

Well, I read on about this tool and "found out" that quality-wise it seems to be on par with NeoScene.

Today I tested a long 40 minutes clip. I actually wanted to blow up the CF version and compare it to a blown up 5DtoRGB version, when I realized that transcoding took forever with 5DtoRGB.
Maybe four times as long as with NeoScene, I can´t tell exactly because I had to stop transcoding this huge clip. It would have taken half an hour by my estimate. I´ll retry tomorrow with a smaller clip.

Hmm, super slow? Not what I need. I need fast. And reliable. I'm having a hell of a time getting long (30mins and more) AVCHD into Avid 5.5. It just hangs and counts up forever.

Yes, 5DtoRGB is supposed to be about 4-5 times slower than Neoscene but I wouldn't call it super slow or even slow. Speed of transcoding on my PC is absolutely ok. If you shoot lots and lots of footage Cineform surely is worth the money, other than that, 5DtoRGB is a hell of a free tool.

What does this program output to? Prores? I'm usin Premiere, and last time I fiddled with it, seemed like I could do prores without fcp?

On my system runs pretty fast... and looks pretty much as Cineform when overlap two(DnxHD and cineF) files in AE... Good Free Alternative!

What is the pros of this software? I am using direct import in Avid
Good question. I'm using my GH13/17 importing directly into avid and am very happy with results - also seems a faster import than my canon h.264 files.

It does a superior YCbCr to RGB conversion, especially if you do any post processing like grading or keying, you'll get better results

So do I just open the .mts files? It says "MTS files aren't fully supported...." Maybe I have wrong version

?
Yes you just open the .mts file.
Make sure to download the newest version and I think there's a 32bit and 64bit option as well.

Anyone know how to use the Batch ability on windows? Im clueless about this command line stuff in windows. I have a huge project I want to convert.
I'm working with a GH2, .mts files. I would use an older version of 5DtoRGB with the mac batch convert... but I want the audio.
A step by step, or link to a command file would be much appreciated!
