5D MKIII specs

Are there any good and cheap anamorphic lenses left? Haven't the prices for those lenses gone up dramatically?

iscostar 2x about $500 really good almost as good if not as good as an iscorama. Have to focus both lenses though which is a real pain. Have to use tele lens on FF or it will vignette. I think Andrew Reid did a review on them.

I'd rather see something wide with deep DoF like a landscape or cityscape. I'm not rushing you, when you get the opportunity, thanks...

I'd rather shoot that with a Canon XF300.

Look. I'll post a ProresLT short clip to Dropbox. It will be with the 50/Leica, the 85/Nikor, and the 16-35L v1 eos, and it will have a touch of post sharpening. Everything is shot at 1250ISO or higher. Mostly I-frame. Anybody that wants to see it, PM me your e-mail. If you don't have Dropbox, all you have to so is sign up for free (Dropbox rules by the way).

My Leica collection-

16mm f/2.8 fisheye-elmarit-r
24mm f/2.8 elmarit-r
28mm f/2.8 elmarit-r
35mm f/2 summicron-r
50mm f/2 summicron-r
60mm f/2.8 macro-elmarit-r
90mm f/2 summicron-r
135mm f/2.8 elmarit-r

I think I paid about $4000 altogether. ebay shopping is not for the faint hearted, the 35mm had sand in it and the 28mm won't focus to infinity (I'm pretty sure it's repairable) The 24mm does hit the mirror if you're shooting stills.

I want the 19mm but even an old one costs about $2000 now!

Most of them are very old series 1. The newer Leicas are a little sharper but cost a bomb. They do flare a lot and I like that. Focus throw is very long and great for racking. I've de-clicked the aperture on all of them. Shane Hurlbut says the iris slips and he has to gaff them but that's only on the newer lenses. I have leitax.com EOS adapters on them which are rock solid (they're screwed onto the lens)

Thats a nice little collection. Turn them over and see which plant are the made from? Not that it matters too much, but if you can secure german or portugal versions, yummy!

Kholi twisted my arm.

.....uh....
Yeah um... DO NOT, look at this via Vimeo. You HAVE to download it to understand how gorgeous this looks
Several things

1. *foot in mouth*
2. this is the Leica R glass, yes?
3. *foot in mouth*
4. what was the sharpening recipe behind this, if I may ask?

My toes taste pretty good, actually.

It looks plasticy on the faces to me :/ too much digital sharpening.

Not trying to be a negative nancy, but that's just my subjectivity kicking in.

Mostly German, I think a couple of the newer ones are Canadian. I've got a Sigma 20mm 1.8 and a Tokina 17mm 3.5 that aren't bad but they're not Leica class.

LMAO

I knew you'd come round eventually. It took me a couple of days to see the light.

Grab some Leicas before everyone catches on and the price goes through the roof!
The summicrons are quite a bit more expensive than the elmarits. F/2.8 is fast enough for full frame and the slower Leicas are generally sharper at most F stops.

It looks a bit too digital for my liking when I have my nose up against my macbook (who other than Kholi watches stuff like that?) but a metre away it looks great. A bit of film grain would do wonders.

I mostly stuck to Nikkor AI and AI-s lenses, along w/ Contax Zeiss. Which Leicas do you work with?

Yes, exactly. Back up a bit boys!
GUYS, I SPENT LIKE 10 minutes shooting and editing this. There is no color correction. I slapped the footage on the timeline and applied a TOUCH of post sharpening. Took longer to export then to shoot and edit it. OF COURSE A POST HOUSE WOULD DO BETTER. This is off FCPX on a Macbookpro!

Go back a page or two, I listed all of them. The old series 1 elmarits (F/2.8) aren't very expensive, usually around $300-400. The macro goes for about $500. The summicrons (F/2) are more in the $700-$800 range. I had all ai and ai-s before the Leicas. I still have the 180 ED and 100 2.5 but they just collect dust now...still great glass but not quite in the same league. The 50mm and 135 elmarit are probably the cheapest you'll find at around $350. Contax zeiss are really good but the Leicas are better.
