I agree .... its scary that they released the 24-70 without IS
I must have missed the smiley face. Whether it was or still is there or not, I would encourage you to bring your comments up a level. You offer great insight to those of us (like me) who don't know much about cameras. Keep your comments focused on that and you'll continue to maintain the great respect we have for you. You don't have to set a "serious" tone but you don't have to deride someone else's perspective that story matters. It may not matter to you. It may not matter to Hollywood. It may not matter to the masses. Even if you are right, there is a more productive, fact-based way to present your perspective.
What great times we live in. Content is dead. Long live the resolution experience.Originally Posted by Kholi![]()

It will definitely make you not want to shoot anything else, well... if you're susceptible to pixel-envy.
the last picture says they used an 16-35 with IS. maybe its a prototype for a new version of the 16-35 lensHey! I just saw on the end of the Mario&Nette where they show scenes with lenses used they Posted EF 24-70mm f2.8L IS II USM ! I was JUST looking for this cycle post by Barry Green. LoL
Still accurate
Boy xD I'll tell ya, you didn't really leave me any high roads to respond to this. Between being told (encouraged) how to live and where to focus my comments, well, what can I say that won't make me look like a meanie head!??!?
If by commenting in a way that you deem unfit means losing your respect, then I'm SOL. xDDDD Having yellow text under my name doesn't mean I turn into an oath-reciting law enforcement officer. It means I make sure that the boards it'nt littered with credit card scam spam and tidying up.
It clearly doesn't mean that I'm impervious to being [passively] derided for being a dreaded pixel-peeper, either.
Squig and I have been at each other's throats since he came around, there's never any harm done and we've PM'd in our day on various topics (mostly cameras). I even sent him a thank you! For showing me that you could shoot wide open on a 5D, if your'e planning to crop 2.35:1.
If you took offense to that, then perhaps I should find a way to reinforce the "just kidding" in my posts so it doesn't happen in the future?
And as for story, never said it doesn't matter to me. =D Never said that it didn't matter at all. If you ever see me write that please quote me so I can apologize for misrepresenting myself.
Awesome!New camera announcements:
1) Excitement and anticipation
2) Disappointment and confusion
3) Justification and dismissal
4) Pixel peeping and soap box preaching
5) Market share exclamations
6) Camera ships and the truths are revealed
7) New camera announced, return to step 1

It's possible that I read too much into your comment. If so...sorry. It just seemed to me that you called out someone earlier in this thread (dustylense perhaps?) about a post with a similar tone toward someone else, either directly or indirectly. That's all. I still respect you a lot and am not trying to tell you how to live your life. Sorry if that's how it came across.
Don't become gray! This forum won't survive in the same way : ) Dave already explained his point. And he has one. It is not your attitude, but some interpretation you posted over someone else. Quite probably as much out of context as he was now : ))I'll make sure I brand all of my joking posts from now on, because they seem to always get taken the wrong way. Tsk!
Now that's just rude!!!!xD Most of my wardrobe is grey or black now. Too late.
LOL You didn't quote. And if I will delete my post now!? :evil:xD Most of my wardrobe is grey or black now. Too late.

Don't worry! I will re-post it. Let me only to wait for the last post of this page!Jokes on me xD Lol

(still off topic but on context to who is inside the strictly private/community joke)
Like you James!
Behave, you are on a serious forum! : D
I can't figure out if the pixels are important or not. xD Which one is it?
I'm with you on this. If the 5DIII quality is as clean as it's seeming to be, and measures up to a full 1000 lines... .. there's really nothing else the C300 is offering. Heck, I'd even take the 5DIII's 4:2:0 all-I codec over the C300's 4:2:2 long-GOP one.
I'm with you on this. If the 5DIII quality is as clean as it's seeming to be, and measures up to a full 1000 lines... then even with price being no issue... I think I'd still take the 5DIII over the C300. I like the FF35 look better, and then besides the 4:2:2 codec... there's really nothing else the C300 is offering. Heck, I'd even take the 5DIII's 4:2:0 all-I codec over the C300's 4:2:2 long-GOP one. Intraframe motion looks SO much better than the mushy long-GOP motion rendering. After working with the Intra-codec GH2 for some time now, I went back and looked at some of the first long-GOP GH2 stuff I shot and it looked like 60i interlaced footage. Gross.
Edit: Wait a sec... the Nikon D800 has uncompressed 4:2:2 output with three different sensor modes for $2999? Why am I even looking at the 5DIII? I thought this was only going to be in the $7000 D4? Great news!!!
