5D and Cineform for grading. Yay or Nay?

On the subject of Cineform, I've been using it successfully to convert AVCHD to avi and edit on Vegas 9, but have a problem now that I'm using the P2 system: Cineform converts the footage and the sound and video quality are both fine, except...the video is running at about twice the normal speed. .

Try to use the latest build of the codec. They are quick to fix bugs in new builds and if you let them know your issue they are usually qucick to respond.

Now, I'm new to this system and can't even get my computer to recognise the HPX camera (have transfered data to an external hard drive and then to computer), so any sort of advice would be very much appreciated. By the way, I downloaded a trial version of Raylight and could plop the data onto the Vegas time line without the double speed problem. But I'm not about to pay $190 for something that I shouldn't need, having already got Cineform.

AVCCAM from Panasonic ( AVCHD ) as well as Canon 5D mark II, footage works great, however looking in the future to get a P2 or AVCIntra
and your comments, about the speed problem is really interesting. Why don't you contact Cineform support ( Great support ), to know if
they can solve the problem, Thank you for the information

Thanks for that. I contacted Cineform and got a VERY quick and helpful response from someone called Jake who pointed me in the right direction. Not a Cineform problem; it's the fact that I haven't properly installed the P2 drivers in my computer. Well, that's another story and it's driving me (excuse the pun) nuts at the moment. Panasonic really should throw loads of money Barrry Green's way and get him to re-write their manulals. Anyway, off to have another go, so will let you know...

I went searching for a lightroom style control for whitebalance and settled with firstlight. This type of functionality might come out with the next version of premier, who knows. I've read that premier handles H.264 footage in 4:2:2 when loaded in memory, so I wondered if it was really a waste. But I went through the tutorial below and you do see it when you push the grading:

One thing though, it can be buggy.
