Seems like you have other problems going on here. The 7D and T2i are identical.
Yes but the way they process the image isn't. Most people are saying the quality is the same though, so I don't know why there would be an issue here.
Video of the ISO tests, Vimeo compression crippled a couple of seconds:
ISO/Noise tests. 1080/24p, lens cap on. In FCP, native format, maxed the mids, applied same filter to every clip. Large video version is uploading.. Handheld, skewtastic footage to come..

I've noticed a huge difference between 7D and 550 footage all shot at the same settings. At 1600, the 7D's were just beginning to get noticeably noisy whereas the 550 was looking really really bad.
You pay for processors and this is what ultimately will help give you good footage or not.
It's just human nature. Some people feel like they always have to have one up on the next person so it just clouds thier objectivity.people complain if 7d and t2i are identical in video and people complain if they arent identical in video, this is so great.

Well the cameras aren't identical. One costs about a thousand bucks more. There was a post detailing the difference of the the 7D when you shoot at the odd iso settings. Long story short the conclusions were that the 7D is cleaner when you shoot at 160, 320, 640, and 1250. The T2i has no in between iso settings so that could account for the noise you're seeing. Anyone remember the link I'm talking about?
