550d mixed with hmc151

How does the 550d play with the hmc151?

I was also wondering, how would the footage behave if dragged onto the 1080p25frame AVCHD timeline?

Would I experience any problems with that?

About to pull the trigger

Cheers

We shoot with the HMC150 and 550d (T2i) and 60D. In low light with a fast lens, the 550d blows away the HMC150. When lighting is good, they look pretty good together. I have several examples of the 550d and HMC150 within the same production on our vimeo page. Most clips from the last 4 month are a mix of both cameras.

Here is a clip where the Prep and Ceremony were shot with the HMC 150 and a majority of the Reception was shot with the 550d.

Do simply mix the footage on a timeline and edit before making whatever your customer wants DVD/BLU RAYs

ahhh are you transcoding the footage before editing?

I generally edit straight on the timeline with the mts files... would I have to use neoscene to make the two cameras useable on the same timeline?

Ive got a pretty beefy computer.

No, I don't have to transcode the footage from the DSLRs. Edius 5.5 edits in natively without transcoding. My Quad Core laptop gets sluggish but the i7 tower cuts through it really well.

So if I set up a 1080p 25 frame AVCHD timeline just as I would with my hmc151.... the 550d footage would work on this timeline fine? Or would I run into problems with this?

Im trying a friends 550d tomorrow and will take my own sd card so I can take the footage home and test it :)

In Edius it works fine. I do not have much experience with Premiere and mixing DSLR footage with AVCHD footage from the HMC150. Sorry.
