550D lens convert for AI-S Manual Nikon Lenses

If I were to purchase a body only Canon 550D, would I be able to purchase a lens converter that would allow me to use my AI-S Nikkor Nikon lenses?

And if so, does it have any drawbacks to it? No metering, quality loss etc
