rogar-Mad(DBG):I don't hold anything of these comparisons - you can manipulate too much
Why should he manipulate anything?

this kinda excites me for af100... now heres hoping it does a lot better in resolution!
:-Cry(DBG):I cannot confirm this horrific Qualy of the T2i from the post #117 - maybe
Not sure he meant it that way. Then just show us a frame with better Qualy from your camera. Insinuating that a fellow forum member intentionally manipulates a comparison shoot to bias one camera over another without providing any proof is down right insulting.
I don't know that's a fair conclusion to draw... the Canon just looks overexposed, and that would cause the sky to overexpose, blowing out the clouds... if the canon was stopped down darker to match the GH1, I'm sure it could have held the clouds better than this pic shows, probably at least as well as the GH1 does... all my testing has shown them to be pretty comparable in dynamic range.
Straight from t2i:
Bottom line, i don't care what is says on the body, t2i, t25, or gh5, etc, if my client is blown away by the end result, thats all i need. If they're happy - i'm happy. My friend went from ex3's or 1's (dont recall exactly) to gh1 (hacked gh13) with his team, and his work sucks, and?? cool he has 3 gh13. My other friends are all using sony z1u's, and their work inspires me, who would ever care what they're using? Maybe all of you posting all these comparisons dont realize that the users here buy all this stuff...and frankly much of it is very trashy. those defend canon, others love panny...this war will never stop. just get something you love to shoot with, after all its just a tool - it wont make you a better filmmaker, its the content and story that counts! "shoot it with the iphone 4 for all i care, if there's a story that's good, i'll love it!"
When I see footage like this with multiple cameras and good glass the rest of the BS goes out the window.

Get out there and shoot!
Just look at this stuff!

I agree with that but these tests are hardly academic. We know that people can do great work with x camera.
GrunF was comparing cameras that he owns and sharing the results.
He's definitely allowed to do that, especially if he's presenting findings without Bias.
People accusing him of flubbing comparisons need to get a grip.
I agree with that but these tests are hardly academic.
Give me two cameras and let me take some pictures and I'll get different results.
And I may not be using either one to its potential.
I have no idea who "GrunF" is and I am not claiming anything. The people who are claiming a winner based on these results are the ones kidding themselves.
Like I said, get two guys who know each camera inside out and shoot some charts together.

Agreed. One thing is for sure: it won't make ANY camera better for everyone. Just technically better, from there people are okay to make their own choices.
Agreed.
So is it better in all areas? Low light, everything?
These hacks are great. Very good for the future of film-making either way.
I want to see these charts though. That will tell me exactly how much of a difference we'll be seeing.
MAH
I won't. Not that I really care anyway. As I've said throughout this thread, it's what you do with the camera. You'll see charts, and then someone'll call those charts wrong or flubbed or whatever.
I agree. When using shallow DOF (which allows codec to allocate bitrate to sharp stuff) and re-scaling Canon video to "manageable" resolution which most people use, Canon is great. It's detailed stuff in 1080p which it has problems with.
