5 minutes with Oden - Documentary short

Very strong piece. Had to do that to my dog who had bad epileptic seizures. You really captured the emotions of the whole process. Hard not to get choked up watching this.

im really sorry, but right now, im at 2:52, im in tears, and it hurts too much to finish it. Wow im a sap. But i can't imagine saying bye to my best friend who's laying right beside me.

wow. i can't watch this without sobbing like a baby. but all balling aside, this is a brilliant film. now i'm off to hug my dog....

That was honestly the best piece I've seen on this site. It had an exceptionally compelling story that was easy to relate to.

Incredible piece. Fantastic work. :(

I'm going to my parents tomorrow and giving my childhood dog the biggest hug I can possibly give him after watching this.

I still have tears rolling down my cheeks while I type this.

I'm not one to cry at films usually, but there was something different about this. I want to watch it again to try and point out which bits I liked the most but I don't think I want to cry again :(

Very sad, it's such an upsetting thing to have to do. One of my favorite videos i've found on the site, but also can't bring myself to watch it again.

great work, great film.

How did you do the shots on the bike etc..? Steadicam? What did you use for sound?

Really good stuff.

Thank you for sharing your incredibly moving film. I thought it was done amazingly well in all aspects of how a film should be made. The storyline, the camera work, the editing ... all done superbly, in my opinion.

moving shots...

We shot from a car (side angle was myself, with the 17-55 IS lens). Rear view was an L lens, non IS, shooter was laying down in the trunk. Got some funny looks for sure, dude hanging out the back of a car, with a camera, in the pouring rain:happy:

I'd like to watch it again for technical aspects, but as you felt, I just can't bring myself to see it again due to the emotional pain it brings....

Eliot - Good stuff. Well-deserved comments in this thread and on Vimeo. Keep it up, man.

Luke - Some great shots utilizing what you had on hand. It'll get even better when you've got the proper gear to stabilize your camera work. Looking forward to seeing more.

S'all I gots to say.

Everything I ever learned about storytelling was in that piece. It totally hit every emotion in my body (I was crying profusely during some of it). I was totally lost in the story and didn't notice the edits/cuts etc like I normally do.

Great job man.
