5500-6500. Well within the price range for most people. I'm down if it's that price and I'd like there to be at least one option to shoot 120fps. Even at 720, that would kick booty.

I'm in pretty regular contact with some of the Canon Cinema guys and one thing they wanted with the C300 was that it is ready to go with the addition of a lens. I assume that is something they will do with the c4k unlike the scarlet which needs alot of add ons to get it up and going. Most likely in the $11,000 range. If they can get it to $8k it will kill the scarlet. I'm curious as to some of the functions since the cinema guys statement was, "This will not be a dslr."

Won´t have a mirror and won´t take skills like a DSLR. I wonder why they should even put it in a body like a DSLR. It will be a smaller body than the C300 with less output-options, but HDMI-uncompressed 10-bit would already be a good start to sell it.

$7,995.00
Slightly more than a 1DX.

That sounds plausible, but once again off the mark if it's the actual price. And, i'm not trying to start an "everything for nothing" campaign, just that the stuff coming this NAB will make that look over priced... WAY overpriced... for what it does or does not do, and what it has or does not have.

Although it will be the only full frame solution if it's still full frame, not APS-H. Well, it'll be one of two APS-H solutions.

Anyway, yeah. 6,999 sounds like the right space to live in.

Don't under sell the huge benefits of raw. If the canon cam still lacks raw I predict the Scarlet will be just fine. As a new owner of a Scarlet I can't imagine not shooting raw again, for narrative work anyway.

I predict it will be less than $6k.

Just my $0.02

They have already released info about the 4k raw codec. So I dont think raw will be an issue. Though I think a price tag under 8k is a bit unrealistic.

I kinda agree with Kholi - Canon announces in the $8,000-$10,000 range and it retails for $6,000-$8,000?

But it only shoots 24fps 8bit MJPEG 4K - no RAW 4K methinks.

Even worse... no genlock, so Bruce will have to do some stupid hack to try and get two of 'em synced for 3D!

So I am on the fence on this one... to me, 48fps 4K 3D goes together really nicely. I know I am in ze minority though...

So I think if I'm shooting in 2013 it'll be RED Dragon sensor A-camera and the PAL version of those JVC cams (50p 4K) for B-camera. Or Sony F5... C-camera is the successor to that Nikon V1 :)

Unless Panasonic or Canon feel like giving us a pleasant surprise!

I reserve the right to change judgement pending results of skin tone tests of course...

I would be shocked if Canon put Raw in a dslr. It eould kill the C300. They are probably developing it for the C300 successor.

Again the 4k "dslr" wont really be a dslr. It will be the shape of a dslr but have more in common with the c300. There is also the chance that the 4k raw codec could be a firmware update to the c300 akin to how the slog update came to the Sony F3. The c300 has a 4k capable sensor. If canon wanted to dominate the current cinema 4k market they would add the codec as a firmware update to the c300 for free. Doubtful but would leave the scarlet without much ground.
