John Brawley who filmed that confirmed it was dirty windows
Blackmagic and BMPCC4K brings out the funniest drama from people:
Perhaps John Brawley or anyone who tried the cam can chime in as this was something that was an issue in early BM cameras.
1. If recorded via external SSD drive can the footage be a: played back and viewed via cam lcd? b: can this clip be deleted?
2. In internal cards, SD and Cfast, can individual files be deleted?
Sounds trivial but this was an issue back then.
The last line on that vid was great. A bit misguided rant but at least he has a sense of humour unlike Andrew Reid. Hey Mr. Brawley. Good on ya putting that entitled whiny egoist in his place.
Thanks for the info re ssd clip playback John.
And as follow up question on this.
While you can't delete clips on the SSD, can the camera format an attached ssd?
One major flaw if you record to external USB-C then you can not record internally at the same time.

For those of you that were "burned" by not having dual recording what on earth were you doing to cause such a epic failure?
The sd card's write protect tab got pulled off when I removed the card from the camera. It damaged the card that it was unreadable.![]()
I don't view that as a flaw at all. The attached SSD is not meant to be just a secondary recording method but becomes the primary recording method to replace the SD cards. While redundancy can be nice I have shot video for over twenty years and never had redundant recording with any consumer or professional video camera. The addition of dual recording is more of a cake icing thing and not a "major flaw" when a particular camera doesn't have it.
