What handycam?...'cause if it is Z1U that you're talking about, I'd say what's your numbers that are saying Sony's 1080i as SD and not truly HD? I'd like to know with objectivity. Thanks in advance.evinsky said:(...) in fact no SD camera at all (Except for Shannon's little handycam) in the test.
Exactly. That's the tradeoff you have to make.robweiner said:Barry, the Sony is notorious for being "slow", but isn't that the reason the picture is so clean. If we crank up the sensitivity of the chip, it looks noisier.
We didn't do a lot of operator subjective testing, although that would have been nice. As the images are the most similar aspect, it'd behoove someone to spend some time with the ergonomics and check out the other features before making their decision. Also, any thoughts from the participants about the quality of the eyepieces and the flip-out screens?
Nothing like that. Shannon brought along a little Sony consumer camera, something like a TRV17 or something, with which he was doing a little behind-the-scenes work and interviews etc.Emanuel said:What handycam?...'cause if it is Z1U that you're talking about, I'd say what's your numbers that are saying Sony's 1080i as SD and not truly HD? I'm sure there are many here who could give you those answers; I haven't even decided which Mac to order yet.SPZ said:Can you try to test the workflow problems comparing dvcprohd and HDV on an out of the box Powermac g5? Something on the line of realtime tracks and render times for both formats? And how do both survive color correction and keying? (probably am asking too specific and subjective questions...![]()
Thanks, as always, Barry. Grateful for the objective enlightenment.Barry_Green said:Nothing like that. The first contra is a very high HVX-P2 kit price and the second is that competition cam's can do the same for a less cost. People have to realize that HD is more different environment than SD. The rules are totally different. It is about the evolution. Not a revolution because HD was existing before. Unfortunately HVX with P2 is not a revolution. HD IT workfow was born when the first HD-SDI signal streamed from HD cam to RAID. Maybe they did it with Viper or Cinealta I do not remember now. And it was even uncompressed 4:4:4. So I desperately looking forward to see all those 4 cam tests to confirm my opinion.
