$375 for GH1 with LUMIX G VARIO 14-42mm Lens w/ Panasonic EPP !

So I placed 2 orders. I was charged for the first a couple days ago, then it never actually s removed from my account, it was 'processing'. (bofa thing). Then I got charged a $1 then a $2. Then they called and told me I got screwed basically. So I asked if one or both the orders were canceled. She jus kept saying "the order sir". So I looked a my account, I jus got charged $800, for the second order. The second order was for two cameras. It's also still pending in my bank, online I can see the second order, and it's $800 the first order is showing $2. But clicking the link now just makes the page time out so there is no way to get actuall info from the site. If I wasn't raging mad already I woulda called them to check on the second.

I told her I don't care if its delay a month or two even, but I want that price for all three. At this point I'd be happy to get two, he'll even 1 and I could take it up with them about the other two later. My thought here is they canned the first and possibly sent the second order as they wouldn't be able to split the order right to send only half the cameras. This is my hope anyway. Even my future wife who wasn't happy i bought three was yelling that this was crap. We can hope it's a mix up anyway. I actually ordered the first camera on the 26th evening, the other two two days later. We'll see as this put a major dent in my happiness with panny products.

just spent the better part of an hour on the phone with panny. My orders were canceled and can not be reordered because the GH1 is discontinued and WILL NOT be getting any more. From the looks of it I got totally hosed as nothing glitched with my order and a few people that ordered after me got them. The body is on back order, well actually never to be filled order. All I got in return is , oh so sorry you could buy the GH2.. uh well if it was instock and you wanted to spend triple what you had already spent.

I'm quite disappointed because the website indeed screwed everything up and said the lens was on BO when in fact it was the body. The ordering went smooth enough and the flippin site showed the body in stock for 6 days after my last order. They began a blanket campaign canceling orders yesterday. To top it off they then went and tossed this up on Facebook as well, for more money. DAYS after they had already sold out. I was told they had , "a couple in stock". Couple.. really

I looked at my bank account last night and they were charig me for the second order, that was refunded last night as well. But they still havn't refunded the $1 and $2 charges they use to test the credit card. No budging on getting into a GH2 package either. Pretty much proved they have no idea how to run a site or inventory management system. I've continued to try to find this camera in town but everyone is asking crazy prices for the body only. Heck theres a body that need repairs on ebay for the price of this package. I don't see this little sale having any impact on the value of this camera either. For those of you with them congrats. Perhaps I'll buy it off you on ebay some day. Supposedly someone will call me from Panny, but to say the same thing I've already been told, too bad, I know you placed and order for something instock, but we lied.

My guess would be no as I got the epp mail on the 27th and ordered that day, according to them it was already sold out when I ordered. Though the mail stated $375 and whn I added it I got them at $350 each

Just get it at $375... before the store runs out of it completely. At this rate GH1 product line should be discontinued soon.
Ahem.

Panasonic didn't have a good earning report. Spring is around the corner. Canonikon are ready to give the usual discount in Spring. Panasonic will have to lower the price of all gears in stock. Half the retail price of 7-14? 14-140? Will be good time for bargain hunter.

I'm confused, I understand employee pricing, but WTF is a facebook discount???

Dammit, i want a $300 gh1 (though doubt it's hackable)

The thing with electronics, there will always be something better around the corner. I bet you could pick up a gh1 for cheaper than $300 within a year :-)

The Facebook deal was $425, they also slapped it on twitter, not having the cameras.

I'd love to pick up a GH1 for $300, but I'd be happier to have atleast a serviceable warranty for $350 like I thought I had. Sadly I need 3 or so GH1's by June for my wedding, currently GH1's are going for $500 to $999 online. Hackables are fetching more fro what I've seen. With Prices currently in the $500 body only I don't see a GH13 going to $300 any time soon.

If what Stonebat was saying is true Panny would probably be sitting exactly where they are now, not delivering orders from nearly 2 months ago. I continue my quest but this is beyond irking when I had banked on this and started buying 3 of everything because I thought I had 3 dirt cheap rigs, now that equipment is about useless unless another setup rings in with lens for about $400

Sorry to hear about those who had their orders canceled.

I ordered on 1/31 and received the lens on 2/3 and the body on 2/4 (yesterday).

I like it and it will hold me over until the GH2 arrives (whenever that is).

If you sell the 14-42 for more than $75 then the GH1 is $300 or less today if you got the $375 combo deal.

I'm looking to make a purchase from the Panasonic store. Does Panasonic automatically charge the credit card when placing an order or when the item is shipped?

Panasonic have always charged my orders when they are shpped. They typically put a charge hold on you card just before shipping. (In fact that is the only way I can ever tell something is about to ship from them...)

They charged me for each order, then canceled the orders a day after charging. But hey that's just my experience so far.

Panasonic on Face book:
Panasonic Facebook Fans: Unfortunately, the GH1 bundles are sold out. While the promotion was good until 2/28, demand was MUCH higher than anticipated. We sincerely apologize to those who were able to place orders, only to have them canceled due to the oversold situation.

fwiw, 99% of those who got this $375 deal the firmware is unhackable 1.34

but sell your lens for $100 (prepare for the ebay flood) and you got your gh1 for under $300 with the panny 2 yr warranty....not bad...not bad at all..worth it to get 2 at that deal imo

and who knows...some genius may figure out the hack eventually

you see a bakery ad in the local paper - muffins ....all you can carry - you get to the bakery late because it says all you can carry and you believe that there´s a warehouse full of muffins ...... and when you finally decide to go to the bakery , all the muffins are gone. surprise surprise

Difference being I was at the bakery when it opened, I paid the cashier, I was being handed the bag when it was snatched away from me. That's what I'm pissed about. Oh and the guy 3 behind me was handed my bag.. Don't worry, I'm really just this bitter. More so when you can't touch a body only for these prices, GH13 possible or not.
