1DC: ...

So you were able to conclude that from the BTS? I mean the footage is yet to be released on the web by end of the week.

Only two shots in the video say "Shot on EVA1" which is difficult to tell image quality from just two shots.
Word. And adding to this: When did a promo video ever WOW everyone?
This setting is probably the closest you come to a "Hollywood like controlled color set" in real life.
The flat lighting pushing this "keeping it save" concept even further.
I would argue that you could match any current 4K camera to the point of looking indistinguishable in this situation.
Matt writes in the comments, there will be three different demo videos with different settings.
I'm waiting for sth less out of this world:)

Hmm Original post is not visible. There are seven people who have downvoted and three upvotes and only three comments. If you are downvoting to hide some post, then atleast comment and tell straight that the post is not appropriate or lacks logic or whatever.

'Camera seling mafia' down-voted it.

Kidding aside, this was good provocation to start to hear the real arguments, not marketing numbers.

I think most of us saw the original post. Wow, the camera is not even out yet and already the trolling has started. As Eric said, there are only a couple of quick shots from the camera in the promo, too quick to really tell much. It seems strange that people will buy into one brand and then immediately every other brand/model of camera out there becomes crap, such a strange, immature, tribalistic behavior. Why do people, mostly guys do this, wrap up their personal identity in their camera brand of choice? They're all just tools and some may like other tools than yours better, big deal. The EVA 1 may very well may make better images than the entire Canon line. Or it may not. But if it does look objectively better than all of the EOS Cinema cameras, more power to Panasonic. But at least give it a chance.

At least I can click on an arrow to make the hidden post visible. So if anyone is interested, just take a look.

Proof that footage from the EVA-1 looks like **** compared to the C200... or at least that the people who are shooting with it aren't very good.

I don't get the point of this post and the tone of the OP, which sounds delighted that he didn't like the first shots. Are we fanboys/girls or are we pros picking the right tool for our work? I'm just glad it was downvoted to oblivion...

You're asking a dog to not bark. Your question is for Dr. Phil. It's the nature of some humans. If it weren't so, it wouldn't be there. Maybe some people have that gene.

Now back to digital video cameras. I'm personally waiting until at least December to decide if I'm going to buy a C200. I made that decision when both the Canon and Panasonic were announced. The Panasonic is probably not going to be my choice. But I want to see both cameras in the wild for a month or so before I make my final decision and since the Panasonic is supposed to ship the end of October, I'm waiting.

But yet you keep bringing it back...

It was a joke. Seriously. Get. Over. It.

However, the composition of those shots is rather horrible. The CC is crap. And, I honestly don't believe this is an intelligent video to release to market a product.

All that said, I'm sure the EVA-1 is a great camera. However, Panasonic has failed for years to bring back the success of the DVX100, and I don't know why they would release a camera that relies on another brands lenses.

Are you drunk? It's a bit early, but you might be on vacation...

That's the second time you've started a post saying you were 'joking', then pointed out perceived flaws in the camera. Essentially saying you don't want people to take your immature tone seriously, buuuut you do actually have a valid point.

Also I haven't been bringing anything back; the comment you quoted was my first on this batshit insane thread.

I think it's a sort of recent thing... After RED really started to take hold(not a dig at RED, btw). I'd say most professionals on here that have been doing this for a long time(15-20+ years) have used and owned most major brands and made money with them all. Just in the last two weeks I've shot Sony F55, Canon C300, Panasonic VariCam and Arri Amira. I own all of them except the Amira.

I get liking one camera better than another, because I have my favorite in the stable that I like to use and having gripes with things manufacturers do, because none of them are perfect, but the "manufacturer X is a poopy-head, my camera manufacturer is the best" is akin to the guys that make their cars and trucks super loud and annoying in an attempt to get people to look at them and seem cool(btw: I've covered motor sports for ~20 years, your Honda with no muffler does NOT sound like a race car).
