35mm adapter rig photos

This is Steve Laramie (lairhair)'s Redrock Micro setup flying on my Steadicam. Lightweight aluminum rods make the system just a touch more bearable. 50mm lens here, though the 24 was more the standard for moves.

Finnegan, can I ask what this cost you? I already have the camera and sticks, just looking for the adapter and rails. I have the Nikon lenses to use. thanks.

I bought the SGblade full flipped package for about $1600. The price changes a bit every day since Shoot35 is based in England, and therefore the exchange rate is always subject to change. It includes everything you need to start off.

just built mine with all zacuto stuff...

I normally run film, so i didn't drop too much in this rig, but i still have quite a bit of work to do, plus upgrading to the HMC150 soon.

haha thats cute! xD its funny how half the people here shoot with like canon XH A1's and EX1's then you scroll down to that small camera. But yes it is a good camera(I think) HV30? idk haha

Yes, HV30 indeed. The rig is light, decent quality, and easily transportable.

Zacuto does make a nice product, but lets be honest here. So does everyone else (brand names you know who) so saying that their product is any different from the redrock stuff or cinevate stuff isnt entirely true. Either way they make a product that is just as good as everyone elses but with a higher pricetag.

i love zacuto stuff, but they have their faults. the Z riser i have is impossible to tighten because the knob hits the riser part. Oops Zacuto. 350$ paper weight. but i figured out how to get around it. they arent flawless. but when they work they are tanks.

There are plenty of great brands out there that will get the job done...but saying Zacuto is "just as good as everyone else" is quite an understatement. They hands down take the prize. Accessories from Redrock, Cinevate, and the like will certainly get the job done, but there is definitely something (more) to say for Zacuto's products.

In my current state, I'll never own a Zacuto rig, but that didn't stop me from building a Zacuto-based Letus+EX1 package for a film with somebody else's money!

Uh, it's really not just a brand name thing with Zacuto. They're not just making the same thing and repackaging it for a profit. Their stuff works better, and you do pay a premium for that.

A year ago i was looking at Zacuto stuff and turning my finder next to my head looking at ridiculously extreme prices... Then i got my first 35mm adapter and bought indifocus reails
and FF, thinking "what the hell", why wouldn't that work for 6 times less money? it did...
but it was horrible...

then i bought my hpx500 from dvxuser luckystudio13 and he had Zacuto FF and a baseplate
with the camera. I was amazed with quality and then i went on and bought baseplate
for 35mm adapter, monitor arm, z mount and didn't look back. Stuff IS heavy, IS expensive,
but you get what you pay for and know that it will not let you down.

I just love how precise everything is...

I just love the black and blue. BTW: This is the one and only Blue microFollowFocus in existence.

I have indifocus gear as well. And since I have never used anything else It works great for me. But I get the feeling that as soon as use a higher end FF and other gear I may be mad at myself for not buying the Ferrari when I had the money.
