35mm adapter HMC150/1, NEED HELP CHOOSING!

Hi,
I'm about to purchase a 35mm adapter for my HMC151.

I've read all sorts of stuff about all of the different brands, and watched tons of movies over the years.
And I've left with (price-wise, light-wise) with the Letus Extreme and the SGblade.

I am very fond of the Any-shutter, Any-Apperture feature of the SGblade and am leaning towards it.

However, all footage of the SGblade seems to have vignette, or too soft, while the letus footage almost always looks good.

The problem is not many people have posted footage of HMC150/1 combination with any of the adapters above.
All letus footage with the HMC looks really good.
SGpro looks very good as well on the HMC.
No SGblade HMC footage at all.

My question is:
1. LEX-HMC owners: Do you get edge to edge sharpness and no vignette when shooting? can you get footage at 1/120 shutter speed?
2. SGblade-HMC owners: The same question.

I would like to place an order soon but I don't I have enough information yet.

PLEASE HELP!!!

I'll be getting my HMC150 in a week and will be doing shots with my brevis. I don't know if you considered it yet, but I love my brevis setup on the A1 (and I've shot it on the FX1). I'll test your two questions when I get my cam.

Does the 150 have an in-camera flip option? And if so, does it flip only the image on the LCD or also the one it records?

It's more expensive and people says it loses more light.
Both factors are very important to me.

Just flips the LCD not the actual recorded image (We all wished it did...)

I have a SGblade and the only vignetting I have seen is on my 28mm. there is some loss of edge sharpness
test of my nikons you can see only the 28mm vignettes http://www.vimeo.com/3902695

Watch the light loss video. I believe the adapter loses half a stop of light when mounted. When you stop down the 35mm lens 5 stops, you lose only 1 stop of "in camera" light. As far as expensive, can't help that..hehe.

He uses scopes too. Interesting 8 mins of video!

Watched it, I guess brevis is just the same as these.
But I already own a Rod supporting system so the price tag of the brevis is a bit higher for me.

That does look good! have you had any experience with the Letus?
I get the sense that it's looking sharper with the letus:

What do you think?

I have yet to shoot outdoors with the blade, going to try tomorrow so it's hard to compare those. Mine was shot indoors at night so I was really fighting for light those are shot outdoors during the day so its a whole different ball game. My feeling is the blade prolly loses some edge sharpness but I have been using it in pretty suboptimal conditions.

Thanks Ken, I'll keep watching for videos from you to see how it performs.
Anyways congrets on the new Blade I hope I'll have one of these soon...

If anyone else cares to shed some light, I'd like to hear from people with the letus if it is in fact as good as it appears in the videos, BTW do you need to get any of the optimization kits from letus to get the Sharpest footage? or they have no affect on the HMC.

Don't just look for HMC150 footage. Look for HPX170 as well. Same lens, same chipset. The AVCHD vs DVCProHD comparison from these two cameras is a wash, as most people can't tell the difference.

Also, I've seen some SGblade + EX1 footage that was ridiculously sharp. If sharpness is the issue, really a side by side between the two with any camera is valid.

yeah im in the same boat. letus elite vs sgblade. for the price of just the letus elite, i can get the sgblade, support rods, follow focus, flip and i think one more thing. i might just pull the trigger on the blade but i love the look the letus gives, but i like the price of the blade and accessories.....head explodes........

good luck on your decision lirany. i do like the look (physically) and build of the blade over the letus, if that helps you.

I purchased the new M2 encore for my HMC150, it should arrive Tuesday the 7th. I'll try and post some footage ASAP. The reason I went with redrock was because whenever I called and had questions someone always answersed, plus you can upgrade for a fraction of the cost when new technology emerges. I have a nikon 50mm 1.8 and a 30-75 nikon 2.6. The HMC150 lcd will flip by the way.

Go to menu ---> SW MODE ---> set to LCD REV ----> then hit the LCD button on the side control panel. Instead of the LCD getting brighter it'll flip the image.

I have seen a lot of footage of the Letus extreme and the SGblade.
and personally I would say that the image quality on the Letus is better but not by much. The advantage of the sgblade is the price, changeable gg and also the customer service at shoot35 is second to none. I am not sure if you can remove the flip module on the letus but I know that you can with the sgblade, this will give you a little more light. The truth is that they are both great adaptors and am I sure that you will be very happy with either of them

Only last night I thought I wanted the Letus and now after watching a couple of Blade footage I've decided they do match up... the letus looks a bit sharper but there are not a lot of blade HMC/HPX footage out there.
The advantages of the blade for me is higher F-numbers and higher Shutter speeds ability.
The downsides are 2 MONTHS WAITING!! and it costs 300$ more (since I have to pay customs for the blade).

Anyone commenting on the physical look is right, the blade looks amazing!

I guess I have to wait to see some more footage of the blade+HMC, to see if it's worth the extra time and money.

I would get the blade myself. I like the look of the non-focused areas better. YOu can make them sharper, or isolate the subject compleatly if you want.

Most vimeo videos made with the SGblade have horrible purple fringing.
Are these the lenses? bad setup? camera related? or simply there's something wrong with the blade?
Any Blade user care to comment on that?

CA is usually red one edge, blue on the other edge. Purple edging is usually sensor bloom from the camera.
