35mm 2.0 vs 28mm 1.8

What would you recommend 35mm 2.0 or 28 mm 1.8

Had a EF 35/2, broke it, replaced it with a Sigma 30/1.4. The EF 28/1.8 looks a whole lot more robust than the 35/2 with a much bigger focus ring, only the 50/1.8 seems flimsier. I found my 35/2 okay for sharpness.

I was in the same situation starting out too. In the end it was between the sigma 30mm f 1.4 vs Samyang/Rokinon 35mm f 1.4. Both perform better than the 2 canon lens you listed. The Samyang/Rokinon is the best one for video, but it does not have autofocus so it is terrible for photography. Sigma have autofocus but the focus ring is probably not as smooth as Samyang/Rokinon and it does not support full frame.
