2nd camera?

I was thinking the same the other day. The got the chip, just put it in a smaller package just like normal dslr. This would be really nice. Not shure how the would go about licenses for lensmount. You might want autofocus and some autoexposure. But i would probalby buy one if is was released.

If you go to the sign up-page for the newsletter ( or whatever ) on the red-website, they ask if one has a ditigal photo-camera, could be a hint for more...

Didn't someone say that last year they were ready to shoot at 8fps with a D-SLR to get the quality and resolution they wanted? And of course RED came along...

I'll tell you what would eff up the entire CanoNikonian empire... a weather-sealed 12 mp dslr that was small enough to fit in my coat pocket, smooth as silk 1600 ISO, with autofocus 8 frames raw bursts, and pancake lenses like the ones that Pentax has, all 2.8 or faster and a 3.0 inch OLED screen. I actually use (don't throw tomatoes at me) the built in flash too, but I bounce it off the ceiling, so flash-exposure lock (like from Canon) would be the ****. The Pani Lumix can angle the flash, which is cool. I'm in!

A pocket-sized SLR wouldn't just rock Canon and Nikon, it would also rock the laws of physics. SLR components are bulky and require certain dimensions to work correctly - so you'd be bending either space or fashion to fit it in your clothes.

Heck, they might as well go for the Telecine/Scanner market.

Even if they don't you could probably hook up a Red-one to a (economic) moviestuff.tv unit and get some sweet scans from S16 straight off the emulsion and have plenty of data to color correct.

Actually, in real use, smaller is not better.
With a big sensor you also need a large lens to cover the format.
With a large lens, you need a large grip surface on the camera to handle it and keep it steady.
Remember the E-400 is a 4/3's format camera with a smaller sensor, and with more compact lenses.
Have ever tried the Canon EOS 350D with a fast lens?
