24p and national tv?

I might be filming a commercial that gets used on national tv. I figured I'd shoot it in 24pa. Is there anything I need to know about broadcasting standards or anything? 24pa will work out ok, correct? Or is there any reason I should use 24p, 30p, or 60i? Let me know! Thanks.

Don't know why the frame rate should matter, but you will need to be concerned with broadcast legal luma and chroma as well as overscan. Cheers.

Well, they should have DVD decks that add the pulldown, but to be safe I'd shoot 24p regular to keep it seamless.

A (US) Broadcast signal is always either 1080/60i, 720/60p, or 480/60i. You'd be best off delivering in one of these formats. (Of course you can easily fit a 30p picure in a 60i signal, and a 24p picture in a 60i signal with pulldown)

You can shoot "however you wish", and add in any necesarry pulldown when you export from your NLE to your delivery medium.

Check with the broadcaster for their delivery requirements.

As flimflam says, just check to make sure all of your colours fall under "legal" colour standards. Don't know exactly about RGB, but your blacks should be 7.5 I believe, and industry standard whites are at 100. There are a few things you've got to consider to

It also depends if you're shooting for NTSC or PAL...I don't know anything about PAL except that its used mainly...in the rest of the world basically aside from north america >.<

7.5% IRE "Setup" only applies to analog video. If you are providing a digital format, do not add setup.

Any Digital to Analog conversion (done correctly) will add Set-up as necesarry.

Signal levels need to be under 100% IRE, this includes any chromanace information.

Proper use of scopes can give you this information.
