Wow, really cool stuff!
Wondering, how did you do the song credits?
It looks really grainy/soft focus, is this an AE effect or did
you shoot a film projection?

the softness is mostly a result of the motion blurring that after effects applies on moving objects, and you can apply 'real' depth of field to objects in 3d space, so the elements that aren't in focus are a little softer. the background imagery that gives it the grainy look is a combination of several different pieces of footage - an illustrator file, some blurry 15fps video that i shot with my still camera, and some footage of scratched film being run through a telecine.

i used to spend forever trying to replicate real life effects in the computer, until i realised that it's a lot quicker and more convincing to just use the real deal. and more fun usually, too
