16GB cards, anything new to worry about???

I have a 5-slot P2 card reader and am backing up 8GB p2 cards onto two external lacie drives plugged into my Macbook Pro.

Any new issues with the 16GB that i need to consider. I will be on set tomorrow with 16 GB cards being thrown at me by the camera dept. and heard some things about problems with 16GB cards? Any issues i should be worried about when using them with the card reader and the system i use?

thanks.

I can't seem to install the P2 Card Format program or P2CMS on Vista. I assume these are not yet supported for Vista, is that correct?

Be aware that some users have a beeping sound recording after the new firmwareupdate..you can find more about it when you search the forum here..!

I guess you need drivers for cam and computer you are working on..
otherwise, no way to copy files..!

The beeping is a hardware issue with the camera, not caused by the cards.

If you experience the beep, please contact your local Panasonic Repair center and they will fix it for you as a warranty repair.

Well, thats true,
but it is caused by the firmwareupdate that is needed for using the 16GB+ cards...so this is why i mentioned it...!

I dont think its an issue for to many HVX users, but some people got really affected by it (like Barry Green and many others..) and i guess its fare to be aware of it..!

However, Panasonics seems to have found a solution,
so if you have the problem, it can be solved at least.

I just did my update, but didnt have the time to check the beep, as the camera went directly to a shooting. (sound is recorded external, so no danger here..)
Ill give it a look, as the problem seems to occure with older models (mine is pal from march 2006) and i have heard some noise when recording, but really low...so i will check it in detail when the cam is back..!
