I thought that by disabling OIS on the menu and or the switch OIS would be off for tripod work but no.
Both lenses still have some sort of gyro mechanism turned on at all times even when OIS has been turned to Off in the menu for the 14-42 and the switch is off for the 45-200 OIS. Tested on GH2
You can listen at the gyro constantly going in video mode if you put your ear close to the lens. Further more if you use a tripod and use EX mode on the GH2 you can clearly see vibration induced by stabilization and not vibration from motion or wind.
I tested with some canon lenses even at 300mm and they did not move. The Panasonic lenses do not disable OIS completely in video mode on a tripod.
This has ruined around 30 of my most recent tripod shots. This is something that needs to be fixed by Panasonic as no serious tripod work can be made with these lenses unless you decouple them and hope they don't fall off.
Very disappointed!
