Hello, does anyone know about the sony 50" hd 3lcd rear projection television. I was planning on buying one so I could play back my hd footasge on a massive screen. As stated its hd ready. However it wont broadcast at 1080. I think its slightly lower than that. Will this have a massive impact on my hdv footage when I connect my camera to the tv?I know canons hd footage is 1080.

Yes but canon footage is 60i so it aint full 1080 resolution you will se as its max 540 lines of resolution for every frame. Of course the 24F footage will ha slight more res per frame but it aint gonna be full 1080 lines.

24F footage has significantly more lines of resolution than 800. I believe Adam Wilt and a couple of the other gurus figured it out. The footage laid to tape or hard disk is definitely progessive (in 24F and 30F modes) and not interlaced.

It's only 60i if it's in 60i mode. It also records 24p and 30p as well if you have it in those modes. In either mode you chose, it certainly resolves higher then 540. In my THREE tests I've done, I seen roughly 800 lines when using proper equipment and monitoring. Ofcourse everybody sees things differently when it comes to these things. *smile*

And no video camera on earth (including genesis, viper, etc...) can see a full 1080 lines of resolution today.....NONE! (we're waiting on what RED can do) But that has no bearing on the purpose of purchasing a 1080 television.

To answer your question Celtic.........it depends.
The MAIN thing it depends on is how far away you're going to be sitting from the TV when you view it. If you are going to be sitting under 8 feet away and you have 20/20 vision, then try and get get a television that has a full 1920x1080 resolution. If you don't have 20/20 vision and/or you will be sitting over 8 feet away, then a plain' ole 1366x768 3LCD television will be just fine, because the footage will look more then likely look just the same.

hey robert.. those i didn't see.. already.. but that clip from your today's feature.. WOW.. the best canon H1 i could see til today.. maybe those faces were a little bit pink but the lighting increased the sharpness..

3X Canon zoom SD (!) lens right?

your work: shoots.. & sound.. great! i didn't like the kind of movie that you did before.. not yours obviously that i can't see.. again: already.. but that sort of american forest monsters.. well.. it's not your fault, maybe, mine! but this one, i'd like to see.. try to avoid the cliches.. sorry my advice.. by who you are.. but i think that will be useful.. even for you as productive filmmaker.. post more footage.. for sure, i will download it as soon as i'm finding your stuff available.. you are a REAL moviemaker.. not one more geek poster.. KUDOS

Thanks Filmmaker1977.

Regarding "Shadow Falls": American horror films are not everyone's cup of tea. I love them. Particular the "classic" style. I'm not much into this new trend of mutilation horror films. But that's me.

Regarding the 3x SD lens in "The Twenty-Third Letter": The opening shot and close up of the detective staring at the body (not the jib shot) are the 3x shots. They're certainly not soft like many insinuate.

better than century adapters?

as matter of fact, other posters like emanuel, mathieu kassovitz caught my attention to your work and i must be grateful for their hint.. you are rocking..

Way better than adapters in my opinion. I don't like adding additional glass elements to an already complex lens.

I'm sure the new Canon 6x Wide Angle HD lens will be very nice. It's really a question of cost at this point.
