10" 1024x600 monitor with battery and HDMI input for your upcoming GH2, $130 only

Yes, this is the panel we need. I was on my way to buy the kit some month ago but the ebay seller had some problem. I think it is the same panel as the one of the small hd. In terms of colour depth and view angle it is not the best. But in term of resolution it is very high and should be very good for focusing.

Speaking of Konsta, they're now listing their Leadstar 9" media player as a "9" HDMI monitor" (1024x600) @ $128.66 with free shipping.

I actually asked them for details on this one, both here an on aliexpress (way before the Chinese holidays), but never got an answer. It says 'HDMI input: 720p', so it probably doesn't support 1080i/p, and as you said V., the frame looks about the same size as the 10" anyway.

Forget about this 9" monitor.
It uses same board design, same sized case and just different panel.
As size of whole monitor do not change I see no point in 9" panel.
As for resolutions, etc - they must be the same.

Agreed. Except the 10" matte English version is now sold out (maybe it'll be restocked after the Chinese holidays).

It seems that the 10" monitor is no longer on sale. I'm in the need of cheap but workable focusing monitor for the GH2. Are there any other choices or does this is still the best option out there?

Konsta still seems to have the Chinese menu version here (another seller here), but they may have the glossy panel. I'd wait until the end of the Chinese New Year holidays to see if they restock the better version (they won't ship before anyway).

Thanks for the tip ;)

Woah, that one's useless. They use the common trick of including the RGB subpixels (which make up a single pixel) in the horizontal dimension. So 1440 x 234 really means 480 (x RGB) x 234, which is a useless res for video monitoring.

This one is bomb(in my i don't actually have one opinion) ---> 200$ its 1920x1080HD!!!!!! I means seriously Id rather spend then the few extra bucks
Again you fell for sneaky advertising - look closely, it's actually an 800x480 panel, it can accept 1080p inputs but it will scale them to fit 800x480.

Normally you want to look out for 'Native Resolution' specs, as that is the real resolution of the panel - but in this case they don't use the word.

This res is considered just OK for focus pulling, but there are loads of cheaper 800x480 screens all over Ebay.

Small 720p and 1080p monitors are rare and expensive, that's why we're all so busy in this thread :).

This is all fine, but alibaba extress listing still is not fixed. How you want people to buy your products?

And we don't have any news about uncoming model.

Any info, Viner?

Yeah but it's probably the Chinese-menu version with glossy panel. If you're OK with that, you can get it for $96 shipped here (no idea of they're reliable though).

Here is the panel we want, Hydis HV056WX1-100:

5.6", 720p, 500:1 contrast, 300cd/m2 brightness (LED backlight), view angles (R/L/U/D): 85/85/85/85.

OK it's only 18bit (262k colours), but I only care about focusing & framing. You can buy it in kit form (as linked), though it would be nice to get a better price for quantity (group buy anyone?).

From some Googling, it's a really nice display, but may be glossy (can that be removed?). 2nd issue is that the only two popular interfaces for it are either huge (the linked one with 7 different inputs including HDMI with HDCP), or small but VGA-only. However I've already found at least one alternative controller, so if we can find an HDMI-only board (or something small with HDMI). I'd seriously consider building my own.

Anybody with an electronics background know about this stuff? I can do basic soldering and even microchip programming, but I'm no electronics or panel guru.

Might help: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/399637336/LCD_control_board_with_VGA_HDMI.html

So I've read chunks of this thread and I'm trying to consolidate the info into something useful.
So does this monitors HDMI work with the GH2 ? Does anyone really know for real?
seems like a great deal. And if so does the headphone jack act as audio monitor from the GH2 when in use?
I noticed other things on the site offer free shipping through DHL but not this. I guess they see what a cash cow we are at DVX user, but it is a good deal anyway.
I'm recieving my GH2 setup soon and I want to be sure this thing will actually work before I order one, can anyone really confirm that all these inputs actually work? Be cool to see some pics of it in use or something. Anyway, thanks for any more reassuring info anyone can post.

1. It works with GH2.
2. Headphone output works, but GH2 do not output audio via HDMI during recording. :-)
3. As for free shipping, it is up to seller to decide. Price is practically the same, and about cash cow - your 30 units sold for last months is about 1 day volume that they sell to others :-)
