Hey Guys:

I just wanted to give you an update on my short "The More Perfect Yellow"

...drumroll!....

"The More Perfect Yellow" was selected amongst 164 films as the official Winner of the National Film Challenge. The film also took top prize by winning the highly coveted Audience Award, as well as awards for Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Production Design & Best Use of the Mockumentary Genre.

Thank you all for the support and advice I got prior to shooting the film. It was an awesome experience.

p.s. Not that it really matters...but it beat out two films shot on RED...oops! don't be a hater :)

It is the artist, not the brush.

Congrats!

yeah I know...just a little nudge to all of those that blasted me for posting this film a couple months ago at a RED usergroup that shall be left unnamed. Some were nice and encouraging...but man...some were fierce!

It's all good..... :)

The most exciting thing about making little shorts is how our paths in the business have changed in the last three years. This is the third short we've made as a team and opportunities for all of us now are plenty.

To think that I met our main actor Lucius Baston three years ago and he was pretty new in the business and after three shorts I see his career starting to take off. He is currently in Werner Herzog's "Bad Lieutenant Port of Call New Orleans" with Nicholas Cage, Eva Mendez and Val Kilmer. And he has a nice beefy role too!

And not only him, but there are many stories and it is all because we just went out and did it. I cannot stress how important it is to just do it. Don't talk about it. I for one had no idea what the hell I was doing when I first started doing these little shorts, but little by little you start to get a grip on things.

Don't ever let the notion of maybe not having the latest and greatest tools be a roadblock to your future.

Awesome job. I remember seeing this months ago when i first started getting into short films, and really loving it.
