I'm looking for feedback on these two trailer versions for our completed feature - Lost Wilderness. I'm not sure either one of these is really hitting the mark.
Which appeals to you more? Why?
If anyone wishes to prescreen the full length movie PM me and I'll send a link. There is one last...
I thought I'd share this sequence shot with the dolly trax system. This is a cheap floor dolly that you can actually sit on. Sometimes track, pan and tilt shots can be tricky with slider systems. I thought the dollytrax did great as we back into the corner here and pan. Then the running shot as...
Someone suggested I commission a writer to create a novel/ebook for use as merchandise for our feature film that has just wrapped principle photography.
I like the idea of having transmedia material to market to an audience after they have viewed the film. Has anyone had success with this idea...
I'm in a remote location shooting a visual effect plate of a canyon gorge with my GH2. I'd like to be able to load a still of a frame of the footage that we shot for the upper portion of the shot and I want to be able to visually line the shots up.
Can anyone share how they have done this or...
My initial reaction was that it felt too cold... all those blues in the shadows... maybe this is overcompensating but this is more the direction I would take the color.
I have two DR-40s , I've never had that problem because normally when I have the recorder set to line level, I'm controlling the input with a sound devices mixpred ,
I just noticed this reading the manual:
When using LINE input the level controls have no effect.
I didn't know that about the...
My Fotodiox m4/3 to FD adapter is stuck on my Canon 50mm .
The silver ring on the lens is all the way clockwise but has some play in it to move counter clockwise. The 'LOCK - OPEN' ring appears to all the way in Lock position and cant move to open because the aperature tab appears to be...
I'm trying to come up with ideas for set design for a womens talk show. We dont have space or budget to build anything. I shot some test footage in a home and was trying to make us of some of the windows and natural light in the space as opposed to just shooting against a wall. I'd like there to...
I'm looking for a writer who can begin mid january. I have a first draft and a ton of notes. Story set in not far off dystopian future with a 'Children of Men' vibe. PM for details.
This is a pic of the actual venue. No space for backprojection but the ceiling is high... keystoning would probably be bad but its more of an artistic vibe they are going for rather than a realistic look.
Here is a test I shot f2.8 at 400iso seemed to work. That was back projection. I think the key is nice soft sources with eggcrates to keep the light off screen, maybe with some fresnels to throw some hard highlights in there.
I have a client that wants a music video done with a band playing live in front of projected video. Its being shot inside a large recording studio and recorded live simultaneously.
They want to create an effect that the band is playing inside a garage , facing an audience inside the garage...
I'm looking for ideas on what kind of gear you would recommend for teaching young pre-college filmmakers. The entire course spans about 200 hours for the school term and covers camera work, lighting, sound, editing. The class size is about 10-12 students. I was thinking two sets of kit similar...
yes that definitely helps pushing the red and orange toward yellow. Is there rule about how much to push the shadows into blue... do you just eyeball it or check your scopes ? My first round of grading I was using curves and pulling out the reds that way. I come from more of a photoshop still...
These are framegrabs from a western short of mine... shot with a 5D using kerosine lanterns and lcd lighting.. the white balance was screwed up and the images came out really red. I gave a pass at grading these shots but skin tones are still looking too pink for that kind of light.
Would anyone...
I'm interested in what your favorite hack for 60p is?
I loaded up Sanity 4 and took it down to the beach. Standard -2-2-2-2 with a Nikon 50mm 1.8 Transcend class 10 card
I had no problems recording or playback. I'm loving what I see. I've graded different scenes with different looks, the patch...
