I have a Honu cage for my GH4, but it's a bit bulky for my tastes. The newer GH5 cages like the Movcam or CAME-TV are a bit smaller and more form fitting, and more what I'm looking for... will the GH5 cages that appear to be a bit more form fitting work on the GH4? I plan on getting a GH5 in...
So, the nature of the work I do changing as much as it has in the last year or so (a lot less live events, much more interviews and b-roll to support those interviews), and the fact I now am not fully self employed, but have a job with a video company with freelance on the side... it occurred to...
m4/3 will be much larger...
As far as generation... the 180 will be a newer sensor, but the DVX200 hasn't even been out a full year, so it's not by much.
Two things...
1) I've been to Onagawa and Ishinomaki twice for tsunami relief. That short really, really made me miss Japan.
2) That footage is stunning... and it's from the internal codecs. All I have to say is...
First, there is no real practical issue with my AF100 and the question is asked out of pure curiosity.
So I bought a few new Sandisk Extreme 16GB cards. And like I normally do, I pop them into my AF100 and HMC150, switch to bars and hit record. The idea is to max out the cards a few times...
So I just received a Tokina 28-70 f/2.6-2.8 two days ago (which I assume is the Angenioux version, though it never said so in the Ebay auction). Took it on a shoot yesterday, mostly talking heads against a black background and for that it was fine. But I had to shoot about an hour's worth of...
So I and a producer are having a weird lip flap issues. Recorded a two camera shoot on a HMC150 and AF100 at 720p24. Sync-ed timecode and everything matches up. However, when he brings his copy of the footage into Premiere (CS5.5), both cameras have lip flap in their footage, with the sound...
The other day I was shooting some interviews plus b-roll-- 1080p/24, LPCM audio, onto Sandisk Extreme 16GB cards. When I formatted the card right before the shoot, it told me there were 91 minutes on the card, which it normally says. However, after the shoot, it told me there was approximately...
So I always understood that if you uninstall CS or reformat the hard drive, you need to deactivate CS first. Apparently, that also applies to upgrades to other parts of your computer, even if you do nothing to your hard drive or the program. Last week I replaced my 5 year old CPU/motherboard/RAM...
I don't know the little girl or the family, but I have a friend who does... as of right now they're up to over $500,000 raised in a week since her death.

So I was contacted by a widow in the UK about shooting a memorial service at a local Naval Station. I have no idea what to charge, since shooting a memorial service has never crossed my mind, and I can't seem to find any sort of reference doing a Google search.
The widow wants it shot because a...
So a quick question... with CS5, am I going to see that big of a difference with a 1366 i7 vs a 1156 i7? I know you get triple channel memory with the 1366 vs dual channel with the 1156, but is it that big of a difference? I ask because going the 1156 route would be cheaper for me as the boards...
I know this sort of thing happens in Europe sometimes, but this is the first I've ever heard of it here in the States.
(And I worked the match yesterday... the second half really was *that* bad)

Found an interesting post on the Adobe forums regarding the list of cards supported. Shouldn't be anything really new, but it's interesting to hear it from an Adobe engineer.
Long story short, if it 's not on the list it isn't supported. New cards will be added when they're added. And if it's...
