I happened upon this article, and even though nothing was completely new to me, it was still amazing to see just how prolific Disney has become at producing several films a year, with a breathless pace to continue into the years ahead.
It's both surprising and not surprising to see how much...
That is the lowest I've ever seen unopened units of this camera.

I'm still rocking a hacked GH2. I should probably upgrade. :)
Global shutter (not sure if you need a CCD or if they can implement it with CMOS in a GoPro at that price point)
Shutter speed control (I don't mind if they bury it in menus)
Higher bitrate option
That is all. Not sure how realistic global shutter is, but it is the single larger sticking point...
Went down to Colombia and ventured up to the Caribbean Coast and decided to take Scuba lessons for a couple of days. I got a GoPro with the intent to get a drone in the coming months and just wanted to try it out. Next time I'll try to attach it to something larger to help stabilize it better...
Spoilers.
Very entertaining. I don't know why, but they really know how to cram a lot of humor into these action movies, they're basically comedies. I feel like Marvel has made so many solid films of this genre, its hard to top their previous films.
I thought Ultron was an amazing and manacing...
Got around to seeing it. It felt like a slow film that is another casualty to a story being drawn out into 2 separate films perhaps.
Hard to argue with the money if it's your decision though. Worldwide take is $752 million, middling between the 1st and 2nd films.
I thought the first couple of...
After consuming the final chapter in The Hobbit trilogy I only have one thought.
I will always be grateful to Peter Jackson for having made the original trilogy.
I've only shot aerials out a Cessna's open window...I don't fly a multirotor or anything. As such, I am very keen to shoot with a CCD camera as it gives rock solid acquisition in every frame with no rolling shutter or jello warbling. I've shot with the HPX-170 at 720p60 conformed to 24p shooting...
It appears that while AMD GPUs have gotten plenty of love with OpenCL within Premiere Pro CC, After Effects CC still only does full acceleration with specific CUDA GPUs. However, "full acceleration" seems to mean that it simply accelerates ray tracing. From what I can tell, AMD GPUs still...
Where would you all recommend I turn as a resource to collaborate with screenwriters that are simply starting out? I'm basically starting out as a filmmaker and will collaborate or "donate my time" to projects here and there. Like many of you, I'm not working in filmmaking professionally, but I...
Yikes. $2.5 billion and not so much as a GoPro made it up to Mars. 720p 10fps is the best it can do I think.
Confirmed.
When I started learning about this rover, I was enthralled because I was sure that with technology where it is, something on par with a new GoPro would be on board. Surely...
Anyone else catch this film by Tom Lowe? I'm a little late to the party, but apparently it made its way to the top 10 on iTunes Documentary shortly after release a couple of months ago. I just recently did the special edition HD download. Fascinating production and distribution model. It's a...
I have the Lumix 100-300 f/4-5.6....nice lens, but too slow for filming in thick deciduous forests at the start or towards the end of the day.
I'm thinking of getting an older 200mm f/2.8, sacrificing some distance for way more light. What do you guys think about old Canon FD glass similar to...
I got this card, but couldn't run v9b on it. I wasn't thinking when I ordered it because I had a 16GB Sandisk 30MB/s that could run it fine...but I guess the 64GB couldn't cut it for whatever reason.
Anyone using this card with success on Orion V4b?
I havent seen any rates for news stringers I'm thinking i will get my new a1 and change my rates per story what do you all think would be a good rate for news footage per station per story.
I'm currently running Driftwood's v9b. He appears to have just released Quantum X v2.
Anyone using it yet?
Thoughts on how it compares to previous hacks for 1080p intra frame recording, or 720p hacks like Sage's FOUR?
So I bought a GH2.
I've done very short tests with the stock settings, 44mb hack, 66mb hack and Seaquake hack. Need to get a better card so I can actually test the Seaquake for more than a few seconds.
Biggest things that stand out to me seems to be increased level of clarity over my T3i...
