A Once in a lifetime opportunity to own one of the rarest and greatest digital cinema cameras ever made!
The sensor is clean, all electronics on the genesis' body works 110%. To anyone interested in one of the rarest versions of the Sony F35 (or I should say the camera that inspired the f35)...
Welp. The genesis has eyes. I made a custom T Mount for the camera using the metal shim from the PV mount and a stepper thread ring and some E tape. Its solid, not perfect but its a start :b
Flange lines up and I have inf. focus.
I heard there is a 2x adapter for 16mm angineux zoom lenses that has the universal sub mount on both sides (female to male) and I was wondering where I could find this? I'm trying to save as much money as possible with my lens setup but im limited to this universal submount angineux makes.
So the gentleman who bought my Sony f23 is getting quite a bit of noise in his image across multiple gamma tables at 0rb gain using a 1/50th shutter. I personally never ran into any significant noise problems with the camera at that low of dB signal, so my question is why is he getting it and...
Thanks to Joshua and the people at Duclos Lenses, I think im on a good track to figure out my lens situation.
Now the next blunder... What in gods name do I need to buy to adapt PV's dovetail mount to a threaded mount for my tripod (Its a benro fluid head). lol
I held a T Mount Lens inside the camera's mount cavity just to test the sensor and make sure it was clean and free of dust and crap (it was). First picture is PanaLog uncorrected, Second is graded. Please bear with me as I just screenshot the editor window in final cut pro 7.
Graded using...
I ordered my 12.9 iPad Pro today and was interested in cool and productive ways I could use it in the world of film? Not looking to use it as a camera so please dont suggest that lol.
I had known about this film for decades but only recently (within the last month) finally sat down to watch it and was instantly a fan. I think it's a great little film that went under the radar during it's time as people were comparing it to the mega hit of the time Pulp Fiction. Christopher...
So I own film convert and the Impulz Lut pack, but i'm having a hard time finding a sweet spot with Slog and PanaLog with these. They are either looking to low in contrast or way to punchy. Has anyone had any luck with these with their 23/35?
Selling my Sony F23 with IF Box and Zacuto Baseplate. L Handle is permanently secured onto the body and can not be removed. Camera is in mint working condition and delivers a beautiful image. Asking $1900 (or best offer). Shoots native 1920X1080 Progressive or Interlaced frames. Both PsF modes...
Thanks to the cinematographers database, I tracked down two films which were shot completely on an F23 and I'm honestly surprised by the results. Trying to track down making of materials with no luck on both pictures but here are the trailers.
So I know some of you had the chance to use both cameras and I'm interested to know if there was anything the Genesis had over the F35? Was the color, DR, or anything really better? Also, was the genesis stuck to only using Panavision glass, or was their a way you could modify it to put on PL glass?

Came across the old ASC article about PE and saw they used the F23 in Rec709.... I really dont understand why in the hell they would do that when they have the option for hypergammas and SLog for better color and contract/DR.
