I used a makeup artist. Observe. For the record, I like the eyelashes. I liked them on set, I like them now. But given the response I'll take a note for the future.
I tried searching for any threads on using two boom ops and couldnt find any, it's a topic I'd like to see discussed by anyone who's done it.
On major Hollywood BTS features you can often see multiple ops. I hadn't had much need for it until yesterday's shoot. We had 5 actors sitting...

In analyzing other's lighting setups in comparison to my own toolkit, I realize I would very much like to have the ability to use individual tubes for under counter accent lighting, taping in right spots (next to door frames, in cabinets, etc).
So, what's out there? Well I dont want to buy a...
Interesting is that last year I bought a two bulb flolight (off ebay) and then a four bulb one. Tonight I disassembled them and the ballasts were Honglida 2x55w ballast (one in the two bulb and two in the four bulb). Interesting to those who care.
So much is talked about the CoolLight HMI/CDMs and fluoros, but has anyone bought any of the tungsten fresnels? How are they? How well do scrims fit in them?
I seem to recall them being 20% off if you bought an HMI/CDM at the same time but I dont see that deal anymore. I also seem to recall...
Okay, I've seen bits and pieces, I've heard enough about them to get the general idea, but for whatever reason I have no memory of watching complete episodes. Can anyone point me to online episodes?
Ken and I would like to show our love to Fat Monster and guests by bringing some awesome Oregon booze to the Saturday barbecue. We have limited space so we thought of a few different ways we could go about this. Please only vote and add your thoughts if you are going to be there. Thanks!
Okay, not bad as in she's going to divorce me, just bad as in the whole crying wife conversation sorta bad. Apparently, if you work a full time job then spend 4 weekends in a row in production then evenings editing, DVXuser, coordinating, etc., it's not appreciated.
Anyone else dealing with...
Never owned a DVX100. (or any Panasonic camera for that matter…)
When I first discovered DVXUser about 3-4 years ago I lurked a bit and then left, figuring this site didn’t apply to me. Later on I heard word-of-mouth from a fellow Oregonian that DVXUser was still a great resource even if you...
So I made good use of my mkh60 in my TimeFest entry 'Aetas' and can't get over how awesome this mic is! The actors were barely whispering their lines and it comes across so purely!
I am very curious, could some mods please let us know how many people voted in the last three festivals? I'm curious if we are dealing with 100 votes or a 1000 or 5000.
Any experiences with it? I saw it at NAB and it seems like an amazing new rain guard that should work with any brand zeppelin. I'd love to hear a field report about it's usefulness.

Dang it!
After my success in buying a 2.5kw HMI Par kit on eBay, I bought a 1.2kw HMI Par kit.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=130203525685
Problem is, it turns out to be a single ended 1200w HMI Par bulb, not a single ended or double ended like I thought. D'oh...
So what the heck is up with those guys still not selling lights?
Portland had the first DVXUser meetup in a long time and someone brought their DayLed and it was a hit! I'd say about 4 guys now want to buy one that hadn't even heard of it.
If only Vidled was shipping...
