mkh60 = delicious

So I made good use of my mkh60 in my TimeFest entry 'Aetas' and can't get over how awesome this mic is! The actors were barely whispering their lines and it comes across so purely!

Dude, I dont even need to read your post. I just bought an AKG Blueline in large part because of your comments that pop up all over the place. I can't afford to see any of your comments on the MKH60 right now.

Lol, that made my day. Actually thats fine, the mkh60 is not in any way a replacement of the AKG, shotgun for outdoors, hyper for indoors. Actually, having the mkh60 and the AKG could be a nice combo.

Using quality professional equipment really does make the job easier and enjoyable

wabit everything that make money is professional equipment and i dont see any joy to use let say large part of it :)
mkh 60 is a nice mic - not really like it for how it sounds near others .

Wasn't suggesting one is a replacement for the other. Clear on what goes where. Just that your comments seemed to tip the scales in all the research I have been doing on that mic. (yes i use the search function). Have also heard Dan B's mkh60 sound clips in his excellent review, and now your comments on this mic?, ....just....just stop. I cant afford this. Not right now.

Hey Oleg,

I've read you like the CS-3e, but how long is it compared to the MKH60? I film in places in the world where you can't use a very long mic for several reason (brings attention to yourself, not easy to pack with rest of gear, etc.)

Thanks,

Jeremy

If the job doesn't bring you joy, it's time to find a new profession.

Hey what's better a SENNHEISER MKH60 or SENNHEISER MKH 416? They are about the same price correct? I will be shooting mostly as a shotgun boom mic for a feature film, possibly in post as well for some adr or singing by artists. And want to use the xlr phantom power from my camera. Any suggestions, comments?

Better is pretty subjective. Both are high end. I believe the mkh60 was
intended to be a replacement for the 416 although the 416 is still popular.
The mkh60 does have features the 416 does not.
Additional info here.
As far as suggestions or comments on your specific application, spend some time in the stickies. Tons of good info for you in there.

Oh, I was thinking the MKH60 was longer than the CS-3e. Is the CS-3e or the MKH60 really worth twice the money than the CS-1 or the AT4073a?

If it is only 10% more quality, why spend twice the amount of money?

Jeremy

cs-1 dont com even close for side rejection the cs-3 has
10% 20 % who cares , it doesnt deliver the goods :)
