Here's a nordic food thing I'm still working on. Lights are only 2 bounced 2k open face lights into the wall that is 1.5 -2 metres away from the top part of the frame. No fill except the room itself which is all white.
Once you start using walls a light source, they act like a huge window and...
Heya
I'm sitting with an AE project where I'm using a pre-comp of letters (1 frame each) as a source for Particular, so that the letters are sprayed upwards from the emitter while twisting and turning.
The letters get rendered fine, but the extrusion I put on them in their own composition is no...
So we just rented a C300 mk II for a food shoot, and we've now tried two HDMi cables, one brand new. Tried two different HD tvs with a total of 4 hdmi ports and we simply can't get a signal through.
I've double checked my basic settings, which would be 50hz, 25frames, hdmi enabled, also the...

I never really liked the on camera approacv except for very few cases or if the set design allowed for it to make sense. I would prefer the eyelight to mimic the actual lighting source and so the umbrella idea becomes quite flexible and good.
Heya...
I sometimes encounter clients that really love ProRes... mac people mostly. Now my new setup is pc, so I ofcourse don't have ProRes natively.
But I was wondering if the following would be possible without loss of quality:
Ingest ProRes clips and XML in DaVinci
Grade in DaVinci
Export...
I'm leaving Apple behind, and I want to do it properly. Last time I build my own machine is around 15 years ago, so I had to realise that a lot has happened since then.
So after some "research" and so on I've come up with the following build which I will use for 70% AE / Cinema 4D / Premier Pro...
I'm anxiously awaiting december 2015 when SW VII The Force Awakens comes out.... and then 2016 when "SW Anthology: Rogue One" comes out (supposedly much more dark and sinister than all the SW there has been.
But Dice and EA just opened the bag at E3 yesterday. See I love my PS4 :D I'll happily...
In short, if I ask you to look ahead, not behind you; what lenses would you prefer to use for indie film / low/mid-end commercial jobs / music videos etc.
I'm not talking high-end Coca Cola shoots or similar.
I talking bread and butter jobs, like doing a talking head production for a local...
A mate of mine just sent me this photo..... Aparently he had lens gears printed that are tight fits. No slippage and so on.
I love the low profile this have instead of those protruding gears that you often see.
I'm trying to find out which printer he used and so on. Told me I could have the...
Seriously... this is a great idea. I love the simplicity of it, and it is incredibly useful for a lot of basic stuff.
I can easily see this camera taking off in sales (pun intended)
Oh, notice how the drone is waterproof and can take off while in the water, and you can get a waterproof casing...
Yeah....the same thing goes around here where the owner operator news shooters favor Ledgo because of the pricepoint.
But Im also biased since I own three Area 48s so Ill jump any oportunity yo justify the buy ;)
Having said that they are awesome if your main job is interview situations or...
You can get some with virtually no color issues, but you have to pay the price for them.
Cineo and BBS Lighting are amongst the best. Im not impressed by Arri in spite of a price point that would lead you to think otherwise...
What was wrong with the other thread.....? People gave you loads of great advice. I don't see how a new thread will help you understand the advice better?
Thank you... old paintings are understated in the ways of cinematography. I remember a particular painting at the State Museum of Art here in Copenhagen. Im pretty sure it's a rembrandt... he has the people placed around a table and cleverly used one of the persons in the foreground to flag the...
If I had to choose between the light on the bar keep and the guests, the bar keep is the light I like the most. The two guests are too lit... Almost like you wante to light an interview. Also not the kind of light Id expect at a bar.
Personally I would do a more directional anf contrasty light...
The couch tv-scene from Prisoners with the finished result, the BTS and Deakin's own words as to how it was done.
Watch from 4:54
As taken from here:

In general I found that Prisoners had a nice atmosphere to it which is nice...
Some of the shots could have been flagged off... I know there are no set rules for how to light a shot, but I do love Deakins for his intuitive approach and use of motivated light or simply using practicals.
Theres some b-roll bts of Prisoners on YouTube where you get to see how a couch scene...
I just posted this in the lighting forum, but reckon it's more suited here...
I was just let in on BBS Lighting showing some new products at NAB 2015. One of those will be light to rival the single Kino Flo tubes or Ice Light. Varying in length (I recall 60, 90 and 120cm) and have high light...
This isn't really a leak, but I was just let in on a little teaser that will come to NAB 2015.
If you are interested in portable high output light tubes that would come in various lengths, I would recommend that you head over to BBS Lighting's stand this year. They have something in store that...
