Just to get the ball rolling. It was only playing in 40 screens across the country and one was next to my house. So, many of you will not have an opinion until next week sometime. The Aviator was well directed and shot. The acting, I thought, was top notch by all leads. Production design gets...

First of all, been a while since I've been around this neck of the woods. Good to come back and say Hello. We just wrapped a Independent Feature shot on the DVX. The shoot took 12 full days and was a grueling process but it looks really good. I'll start to post some stills as they come...

I just got my Wacom Graphire3 6x8 pen tablet system and I love it. I know many editors who swear by it, and will only use them. I love mine to death and think more people should know how usefull this product is. The pen, when in photoshop, will make the brush tool thicker the harder you press...

Hey everyone. If there was something offensive that was posted under the username "PurposeDriven" in the past 4 days, I apologize. Some Co-workers of mine got on this site with my login still intact. I know they were pissing a lot of you off and I punched them all many times. Thanks for your...

Sorry, friends got in on my name, well, you see the rest.

One of the greatest films ever made! Just bought the two disc set, love it more every time I see it. The film is so large in scale, so well acted, the time and effort to make this period peice must have been so large. This film rocks my world, esp. the Director's Cut.

Ok, this is a continuation from the Jobs catagory re: Hudson's wanting to find a crew and make a film. One person suggested that we score the film, and find the music before we start shooting whatever it is we shoot. My philosophy on the matter is that you can find music that inspires you and...

I was sent to New York last night to deliver some HDCAM layoffs from work. I arrived at 7:30 this morning and was siked to be on the East coast for the first time. I delivered the tapes to the Convention Center (Jacob K. Javits Convention Center) and then I was free to roam until my flight home...

Saw "Equilibrium" starring Christian Bale for the first time today. I have to say that it wasn't the worse thing I have ever seen. It was like "1984" and "the Matrix" had a really weird baby. Anyone else seen it? I kinda liked the whole angle on it, and how they trained the "clerics" to know...

Just rented a Glidecam V-8 body mount stabilization system and fell in love with it. So, I placed an order and bought one. ;D If you have every used the smaller versions, the movements translate over after a little while of playing around. This system will make shooting weddings and films 10x...

This is a message those of us who are staring filmmakers who are learning how to run a productive production. If there is one job that is commonly overlooked and one of this most important would be the Production Manager. Drawing up a production schedule; working out the resources you will...

I love almost anything they do. I watched Barton Fink for the first time and went back to watch Millers Crossing. These guys are great writers and great directors. The Lady Killers seems iffy to me, but we will see what happens. What do you all think about their stuff?

I think he is a great director, who can tell a story better than anyone else right now. He is a master of his craft and should have a special award named for him in the Oscars when he passes. My Hero!  :)

Hey Everyone! For those of us going to NAB, you can get a free registration to all all exhibits and exhibit hall events. Go to www.avid and on the main page there is a link that says "Be our guest at NAB." Follow the steps and you're ready to go. I know I didn't want to spend the money to get...
