Production Manager

This is a message those of us who are staring filmmakers who are learning how to run a productive production.

If there is one job that is commonly overlooked and one of this most important would be the Production Manager. Drawing up a production schedule; working out the resources you will need; estimating how long a job will take, costing it, and setting the quality standards; monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed.

If you are a creative person who wants to focus on being creative and not having to make 20 phone calls and hour, then find yourself a great production manager. Schedule and block out everything in advanced. Set your schedule in stone and send your attack dog Project Manager to ensure that it stays in stone.

Now, you could get away with a good producer as well, but, I like having the jobs seperate. I'm sure many of you experienced guys can vouch for this.
