There is no contact at the lower end. However, the upper end does rest on the back of the camera AND the mount is a solid block of metal about 3/4" thick that has grooves in it to lighten it a bit. You can see it all in this picture with the Tilta/Ikan rig, carbon fiber mattebox and Shape handle.

I was thinking about EI mode. Its pretty much straight off the sensor. No noise reduction. No color tweeks. Flat. Isn't it just a compressed form of internal RAW?
