FS7: What's in the box?

A moderator needs to notice that there is no FS7 prefix available...

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger, but I've looked at the B&H list of what's in the box, and some things are shown in pictures, or usually available that aren't listed so here goes:

a) Is there a PL mount adapter as with the F3, F5, F55? If not, can it handle PL mount glass with an adapter?

b) The picture shows a tube over the LCD. I'm assuming its an optical tube for the eyepiece. There is something listed but it's not clear. Is that included, or purchased separately?

c) What is the SOBCU1 that's listed?

d) I see a mic in the picture, but not one listed. Does it have the same stereo mic as past models included?

a) No PL mount included, there are e-mount to PL adapters available. E-mount isn't quite as robust as the mounts on F5/55 so might not be optimal for PL glass (without lens support), depending on lens, of course.

b) Tube included. Similar to the one on FS700/EA50 etc, but shorter.

c) No idea. Maybe the wireless adapter?

d) No mic included. Previous models (if you mean FS100/700) didn't have stereo mic, but at least a mic.
The FS7 has an internal mic for reference audio at least.
 
Thanks. How weak is the E mount? I have small Zeiss primes that should be okay, but does the Sony 28-135 F4 lens need support?

I'm glad the tube in included. Now for parts to move the LCD forward and get the weight centered on the shoulder.

By previous models I meant the F3, F5, etc, but yeah scratch audio is all I needed. Better mics for the better audio.
 
The BCU1 is the battery charger - same one as the EX1/E3. Interestingly, the BCU1 can be used as an AC camera power source, but Sony included an entirely separate ac power adapter cable, so you can charge batteries while running from wall power, no conflict, no extra purchase.

Hi Dennis,

Yeah the F3 is long gone. I picked up an AX100, which is severly underrated and ignored on this portable stealth camera. True that the time code isn't professional, but codec and lens are high quality. The images are simply stunning. It should be a great B camera for FS7 in UHD mode or in HD 4.2.2 mode.

Between the two I should have great versatility. I don't know if the Sony zoom lens will be a good match for the Zeiss Sonar zoom on the AX100, but I still have Zeiss primes if I need them.

Don't forget that SONY is offering a special on the camera with a mail in rebate to get a free Metabones adapter for EF mount to E Mount. The FS7 E mount appears to be somewhat more robust than the FS700 camera e mount but that may just be appearance. Did you decide to pick up any PL to E mount adapter to work with the camera, or did you have one from previous cameras?
 
speaking of the promotion, i just received the Metabones EF to E mount mark iv today from Sony. That is a free $400 gift.
