OFFICIAL A1 Custom Presets thread

I've been reading the entire thread and like the tweaks you can do with the presets. I really like some of the presets I've seen and would like to use them. When I tried them out it's a huge difference compared to the standard out of the box-preset.

The thing is that I haven't studied what the presets actually do and I wouldn't be able to do my own preset so I have to ask you guys for help.

We are just about to start recording a serious ski-movie and I would really like to use presets when recording it to make the picture as good as possible.
But when recording in snow with a clear sky and sunlight I've learned that you really have to know what you are doing if you want to tweak the picture so the test shots I've done is only with the factory-preset.

So my question is, can I use for example panavision2 (witch I think looks really good for what I've seen) when I start filming out in the snow or will it ruin the entire thing later on?

I suppose different presets are good in different environments, like indoor/outdoor/sun/rain and so on.

Do you think I should use presets at all or record everything with the factory presets and make it as good as possible later on in the post?

I would say go with panavision for outdoor stuff where there is plenty of light. You will have the most latitude and the easiest time adjusting in post if you want to.

Before I dial it in to my camera, can anyone confirm the settings for Vision 6 and Vision 7? In posting #246 the settings for Vision 6 are listed as RGN 20, GGN 21, and BGN 22. Then in posting #267 the settings for Vision 7 are listed as RGN -30, GGN -30, and BGN -30. That's a pretty big change in the color settings. Are those posted correctly? Thanks.

Just the look I want! Fantastic! Going to use it this commin weekend. @ Someday - should I make changes to V7 in lowlight? If so what would you suggest? Nice little movie - is that shot progressive or interlaced? Thank you.

It's definitely a great preset, but i just can't stand using N gamma because of how much softer it is.

Cine 1 is sharper, and Cine 2 is the sharpest. I'm surprised it has that much effect on the footy.

Wow! So many presets. I just joined Presetholics Anonymous. The first step, stick bubblegum in the SD card slot.
