Sorry about the price increase. On the next load of 50 the price is going to $499, and thats it, no more price increase.

We have several resellers on board and we have to raise the price to get a decent wholeseller discount.

Hey Johnzo, do you have any adapters to run these off of a D Tap?
Let me interject here. Last fall I asked them the question in terms of voltage, as the AB batteries and other full size 14.4V batteries put out up to 16.8V. John answered that their monitor can only accept up to 12V DC. Unless they changed something in their power circuit design, you would have to have a voltage converter to step down to 12V.

I am not aware of it, but it does not mean it does not exist. Technically, if a device accepts 12V, it is not a big deal to make it accept a bit more. It would be the cleanest solution...

Hey Justyn, I'm in Altamonte Springs and just picked up one of John's monitors. Been using if on a project for 8 days straight and it's working great. I feed HDMI, RGB and S-video to it and switch using the metal buttons on the side.

I picked up a Joby GP3 Gorilla Pod which screws right into the HD089A. I can set it on a table, wrap it around any kind of stand or tripod, bend it to the angle I want and it works great. I've used other types of monitor mounts and, while this looks kind of funky, it's the most flexible solution I've tried. And the cheapest.

As I mentioned in another thread, the D90 doesn't output bars so the fact that this monitor doesn't offer blue-only isn't critical. I compared it next to an Apple 20" driven with a Matrox MXO calbrated with bars/blue-only and it's pretty good.

I believe in shooting safe in the field and working on finesse in post with a darkened room and a calibrated monitor so this is more than good enough for me. I'm taking delivery of a Sony HVR-Z5U next week so we'll see how that looks on this rig.

Adriel,
That's cool. I'll have to check out that pod. Sounds like a cool addition. I just picked up a really nice hard/soft case from loewpro. Fits the monitor perfectly.. but I think I have a somewhat more streamlined case in mind. I'm going to buy a gun padded case. Those should work fine in size and be able to put the monitor in a bag pocket and feel somewhat secure about it.

Love the monitor.. and the fact that they are local is sweet.

..and it's high def? good for focusing on the XH-A1??? I can't focus that darn thing easily in the field when using the LCD, a Varizoom, or a Glidecam monitor...Must be my eyes. I even have an assistant with a black umbrella shading me. Think this will work ok with the same batteries that presently power my Varizoom and Glidecam..I think they are Lithium Ion batteries. Also have a Bescor battery pack waist belt.

Johbzo, still no word on the D Tap?

Capt Quirk, right now the montior runs off of 12v only. We are devolping a 6-26v power cord/ regulator, this will let you run the monitor off of power bricks.

The cheapest battery solution is the MP3300, it can be found for $90 bucks, and it will run the monitor for 3-4 hours. We bundle our monitors with the MP3450 which is a larger capicity battery, 4-5 hours run time.

I'm just very busy with these monitors. Here are our following projects:

HD089B - 1024x600 with 1:1 pixel mapping, RGB adjustment in menu $599 ETA 3 weeks
HD089C - 1280x768 with 1:1 pixel mapping, RGB adjustment in menu $799-999 ETA 2 Months
Sunhood for all three models - $30-50 ETA 4 weeks
HD071A - 1024x600 with 1:1 pixel mapping, RGB adjustment in menu $599 ETA 3 Months
6-26v power adapter/cord - $99 ETA - 3 months plus.

Just got the monitor. I gotta say, my first impressions are really good. The monitor is very light, nice and sharp, easy to view, decent image control. I'll get some pictures up later.

A couple pictures. I have the Tekkeon battery on the back of the monitor with velcro. The monitor/battery combo is to heavy to mount on the camera if you want it off to the side. But if you want it positioned straight back, it holds it fine.

No luck

No luck

Seems like a good price for what it does. Want to get blue only? Send bars, use component cables and pull red and green out.

I tried this with the Manhattan LCD. It does not work. The screen goes blank when you pull out red and green. Will have to use a blue filter instead.

Dear Johnzo,

If you could, would you be able to tell me the possibility of people living oversea buying your product?

If it is possible, what would be the payment option?

I live in Japan.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the images. Looks good. Is this displaying 16:9? How come the LCD information is not shown on the monitor. Isn't it supposed to show what is on the LCD? Would magnification, peaking and other LCD info show as on the Canon XH-A1's screen?

I don't have a Canon XH-A1, but on my Canon HV30 you can turn "TV monitor" on or off. When it's "off," the information does not display on the Manhattan LCD (or any external monitor) hooked up via the HDMI, component, or composite connections. I trust it's the same on the XH-A1.

I Live in Singapore and i have got the 10.9" LCD Monitor from Manhattan. Fast and efficient service from them. Works ok with HVX200 ( Component) and Sony ( HDMI)
