Winners and Wrap Up: TwilightFest

Mazal tov to the winners!

Warm congratulations to Steve and Geoff of Teacher's Pet (it has been such a joy collaborating with you), Mike and the wonderful Karl who truly deserved the first place.

You have created fantastic, inspiring works.

Love you all!

Wow.

Ok, I'm still a little shocked, excited, but also feel for those who did some outstanding work but didn't quite place.

I say this with all honesty. This site spurs me on, it forces me to up my game seeing the past winners and the standard that people hit. A bit of healthy competition is a great thing :-) . But if I hadn't placed I'd still have hopped off to raise my game next time around. Just to be in the top tier was enough, but this is amazing news.

I've said it before but DVX is unlike any other festival I have encountered. It's a place to grow, learn and be among likeminded people. This is only my second fest and each time I've felt I've been welcomed by everyone.

DVXuser has given me that spark to get off my butt and make stuff. But I hope it will now continue without the 2 year gap between fest entries  Thank you to all the mods, everyone back house that does an amazing job to make these fests possible. I don't know many of you personally but I know you work HARD!

Big thanks to all the sponsors, I've just looked at the prizes and I'm stunned. I am so excited to get my hands on that kit. Cannot wait. To Sabi for offering his services with the DVD's. amazing. It really make you realise the effort that the members go to on here. It's the icing on the cake but we are really excited to use these prizes.

All the film-makers Ive chatted to made me feel welcome and provided a lot of fun while the fest went on. Huge thanks to everyone who voted for our little short and commented in my thread. It all helps us to become better film-makers.

I'd just like to say congratulations to the other prize winners. I mean you never know how people are going to vote for you and I remember from Horrorfest that the points separating 1st from 3rd were in the sub digits. I think all in the top 7 can say they made great movies. I was very impressed.

Gushing speech over - I'll save the personal thanks for my thread! But I will hopefully (fingers crossed) see many of you in the next fest.

Thankyou DVXuser.

Congratulations guys. Great films...You have motivated me to try harder and hopefully the next fest will be even better for all of us.

did you not read my post? :)

He created a script. Everytime I refreshed the page, I got a new entry at random. I did that to fill up the random selection list. Just a way to give something to more than just the best films. Figured these books would be valuable to folks who didn't win more so than those that did.

Jason
