THIRST- A Matt Sconce Film

Huzzah! Way to go dude. I was trying to think of something witty to say and I'm sure I'll come up with something later, but in the meantime (insert witty comment here) and congrats!

Good to see the DVXUsers together.

Nevertheless, we're proud of all of you and are so pleased that you represented DVXSER so well, Matt and Gary.
Our DVXuser table was pretty high powered and we had such a good time. It was the first time I have seen Norm's film Berlin. What a wonderful film! Brandon's 'Welcome to the Party' was neat too. Troy Ruff's 'The Impossible Race' was very well screened with much belly laughing. All in all, such a great festival.

Heck, I just drove the car. :)

Yeah, and made (from scratch) all the cool **** they used on most of those films.

Hey thanks! I am slowly storyboarding. It is going pretty well.

Ack! I received a Model back from my modeler and he gave me a low poly model and a super high poly model. The goal is to make a normal map of th high res version that will go on the low res version. Everytime I try this in Mudbox, it says the Coordinates are invalid on my low poly mesh! I don't even think I understand what a mesh is....haha....I am in a bit over my head....we will see how this turns out, but I am thinking it may turn out like this::nads:

UPDATE: Today will be the day where I will discover how to make the correct maps and such for my 3D models. I plan to research like crazy and figure it out. I am also trying to plan a shoot date. Talk to you all soon!

Hey everyone. I have been away for a while trying out some new renders, and ordering some props. Things are going slowly but surely, and I still need to cast two roles. I think I am heading up to Sacramento on Sunday to pitch Stricken to Nehst Studios in a one on one meeting. Check it out: http://www.pitchnehst.com/ Maybe I'll see some of you there.

Hey Mark Johnson! I missed you down in Pasadena! We will have to meet sometime soon!

Update: Costume ordered, now I need 5 other costumes, and two more actors cast!

Hey Matt,

Sorry we missed all you guys. That PitchNehst program looks great. Good luck and do let us know how it goes. I'm really interested to hear what you think it.

The case we were handling in Fresno got settled before we could pop a cap unfortunately. However, we'll make it up there before this fest is over for sure.

Hey thanks man, I'm excited to check out Thirst too! What apps do you use for your 3D animation? I'm working in LightWave..

Nice... When I was taking LightWave classes, my Prof. took me aside one day, showed me Maya and gave me a demo disc. When I opened it up, I was just like, "Uhhhhhh" and closed it. And that was it for me and Maya. Haha..

Yep, Maya felt like Greek to me at first but I am getting the hang of it. It is Extremely powerful with all the new nCloth, Fur and Hair etc. Not that I know how to use any of that yet....haha!

Sweet! We may have the Penguin on Crew on Set!

It's true. Matt sent me the production schedule and I asked if I could come help out. He has graciously allowed me to join the crew and I will be checking my schedule over the next few days to see if I can work out a trip down there. My house is about 30 minutes away from where they are shooting, and I go all the time, so as long as nothing else conflicts with it The Penguin will be in the house! :)

I hope it does! It would be great to have you there! Any other Dvxusers able to make it! If you want to be on a green screen shoot, that is what this will be. Should be fun! There are some effects shots I have to figure out, and then I will finish storyboarding.:)
