35mm adapter rig photos

its front heavy like WHOAH....

That's the one thing that bothers me about using the Zacuto Shoulder Rig setup. I can't figure out a way to get the pad to a point where you can balance the rig at the center. Which is actually right beneath the HVX lens and the adapter, or beneath the adapter depending on which adapter you have. Any ideas?

I would think more-so beneath the HVX lens in the end once you have a V-Mount on the back and Mattebox and MOnitor on the front. That should even the weight out perfectly. But, you would still have to have the pad further up...

The RR Shoulder Mount lets you do that so long as you use the rod-mount portion. And you can keep the rig compact, as these things get way too long.

Still, the Zacuto stuff is tank. Very nice, I've been renting my Zacuto setup for the time being and everyone loves it.

Alas, I have the "A" model. If/When I decide to upgrade to a HPX170, I will definitely want to send my Carrion back for the HD-SDI upgrade. Which won't be cheap :(

But oh, so worth it! And I guess if you upgraded it to the C then you can pass HDI through the monitor too.

PM me a picture and I'll help you balance that thing!

I also agree on the Carrion. It's a really nice monitor for the price. However it's heavy as ever. If I was shooting with an EX1... I would forgo the whole monitor thing and just use the onboard LCD. However, for HVX200(A)s and the new HPX170... you really do need a monitor of some sort!

did you have the batteries on the back of the monitor?
if so then that's the main thing, I am hoping to get a CARRION b and several Tekkeon batteries that get strapped onto the rails very easily.
Or by using bricks in the back you make it all even better.

Also, what arm? I am counting on getting a Zamerican from Zacuto which is supposed to be noticeably stronger than the Noga which was the one I used it with. No batteries on the back and a stronger arm should do the trick just right.

And it is still waaaaaay cheaper than getting the panasonic monitors, plus the 170 will have the graphs built in which was the only difference between the monitors. actually the Carrion has some higher specs.

kholi, z riser right underneath the adapter with a shoulder pad on it. just leave enough room between the dd and your face f00.

Uhmmmmmmmmmmmmm. .. Shouldn't you figuring out when we're going to go out of town?

>:B

Thanks for the tips, dudes. I'll see if I can modify it for that. Zacuto stuff is tank!

Here's my rig in it's current form, it's gonna change dramatically in the next couple of weeks. Don't know why I never got around to posting it before.

Whats up with your rails, your camera and adapter dosnt seen to be straight with the rails... The rails are straight and the camera tilts down...

Yeah it was laziness really, it got fixed like 2 minutes after I took the pic. I had the brevis to rails mount locked too low at the time because I didn't feel like adjusting the mattebox.

how do you like your iKan monitor? We're getting horrible flicker on ours. Using it with a z7

I've also got an Ikan monitor, I was kind of skeptical before buying it, since I've heard quite a few people complain about getting flicker. But I haven't noticed any flicker at all with either the battery connected, or when using the 12v adapter. Try contacting the distributor you got it from, I had to send back a faulty battery charger, and they replaced it without a problem.
