DVX100b for sale: $1,000 shipped.

The catch: snapped off LCD screen.

Camera works fine. Recording and playback is perfect. Everything is great about her other than the fact that the LCD is broken off. Quoted at $700 to fix it good as new. Quite frankly, I am too depressed to deal with that. Hardshell flight case included.

So here is your chance at a 100b for $1,700.

Backstory: nobody was ever allowed to touch my camera and it rarely left the case. I was an idiot and brought it to work one day, letting a coworker try it out. It took a spill off of the tripod and hit the ground. Boss refuses to pay for the fix, even though it was broken for work purposes.

Your subject line says "$1000 shipped" but your post is saying $1700.

Typo or bait & switch?

Hahhaha, no typo.

The $1,700 is if you chose to have the LCD replaced (every quote I got was $700).

So on top of the $1k I am selling it for.

Note: it works well without the LCD, it is just inconvenient. And I am aware I could just fix it and turn around and sell it for twice what I am asking for, but I don't have that kind of time right now. Typical American behavior, I know.

My bad... sorry for bustin' yer ballz.

Good deal over all.

Fixing the LCD is easy- I just took a dvx apart. Its just a ribbon tape connector that needs to be re-connected unless that snapped.

Uh-oh... seventh come seventh served.

This happens in the marketplace a lot... I did think $1K was a really good deal though... I rarely use the built-in LCD anyway.

Now that you got my interest... post the results when the dust settles.:)

Did you read the previous posts, notably #6? The LCD is broken so it would be cost around $700 to fix if you were to buy the camera at $1000.

Making an auction out of a normal 1k$ sale is very creative. Hope this money making behaviour wont be common at this marketplace in the future...

It is a marketplace. If he can get more money because many people want the same thing then that is totally cool.
Noone wants this to become an auction site, but we love getting gear at good prices and people love selling them here at a fair price.

There is going to be money involved and sometimes it will be more money than other times, to claim that that is somehow wrong baffles me.

BTW what is wrong with making money, my bills cost money, what about yours.....

Mine cost, too. And they cost a lot of money ;-)
But in my country making an offer for selling an item is like making a contract. So the first one who is willing to pay the requested ammount of money has the right to get this good for this amount of money. I know things are different in the US ;-) but a mans word should be worth at least a few bucks...otherwise the credibility is lost...just my 2 cents...
