Right now I am at Super Luis's house and Mark Johnson is forcing me to post something before I go to sleep. The screening was great, I had a good time and met a lot of kick-arse people. Further, I want to thank whomever is responsible for Rogan actually wearing pants today. Everyone here is plastered except for me, but at least we're having a good time :grin: I will post more from the hotel at some point.

EDIT: MattinSTL just ATTEMPTED to explain a plot idea he has that should have taken 5 minutes but was instead dragged out into a 20 minute incomprehensible slur of "dudes" and "books." But I can't blame him, it's late and he's been having a good time (:beer:). :D He's going to kill me when eh reads this post after the headache wears off...

When I'm on the boards I have a completely different persona...(that is until beer is in me...ask Johnson, been bustin my balls all weekend)

But seriously meeting The Jack Daniel Stanley and cowering in his shadow of greatness...The Fat Monster Boys (Mark, Tim and Luis) Luis has been awesome! Thanks for letting Gary and I crash at your great house! Mark Harris is really a poo pooing Nice guy and Joe (Conrad_Johnson) I now want to be these guys when I grow up! The F'ing Penguin, he's taller than I and let me down by not wearing the suit...shame oh the shame! Kholi and Blaine (other than Harris and JDS) I fear what new orifis (sp?) they will rip into me when they review my movies. But Blaine is a stellar guy, I mean really!

Thanks to all I've met so far its been so worth jumping on a plane from "Hicksville", Texas and coming out to LaLa land.

Well, Luis draws the line at hard drugs or narcotics (unless prescribed) and he asked that people not bring weapons except for small (less than six inches) pocket knives or very small caliber hand guns that can be kept concealed. Other than that, you can bring what you wish.l
 
Rogan is, indeed, representing Waco well. This guy has been exceptionally willing to roll with the flow and will sleep where you tell him to, eat when you wish and puts the seat down.

So, I will not attempt to briefly describe what a great expirience I have been having here. When we got into town we ended up switching hotels for a better rate at a much nicer Double Tree in Commerce. They gave us warm chocolate chip cookies upon arrival. Warm ****ing chocolate chip cookies!

Got to CineSpace just after 6 and tried to see if I could recognize anyone. Finally I saw Mark and we chatted, then I helped bring a bunch of **** in from Max's SUV. We hung out in the theatre most of the night and I had the wonderful privledge of sitting at what I like to call The table. Sure it wasn't the table with industry professionals but I sat right next to our wonderful fest master Larry R and tried to read all the crap you guys were spewing over in that thread. Honestly, you don't know how hard it was to not have a laptop in front of me posting along with you. (Actually, you probably do.)

At the screening we watched a bunch of great films. Congrats to O2, RPDM and The Small Multiple! You all made terriffic shorts and I feel honored to have been able to see them. At the screening I had the great pleasure of meeting the Barry Green, who is a fantastic guy. I talked with John LaBonney who later pulled me up in front of the camera with ridiculous looking hair to talk to all of you folks who didn't make it. I also briefly met a bunch of other people I later chatted with at the after party.

We went to Carls Jr. afterwards and then over to meet up with everyone else at Super Luis's. Luis was a fantastic host who couldn't have been more gracious (not according to Mark J, though, who kept complaining when Luis would open the fridge without saying "excuse me" to the person standing right in front of it. :D)

I met and talked to so many great people there that if I list someI know I will foget others, but hell, I'll give it a try. Mark Johnson, Mark Harris, JDS, Jason Ramsey, Gage FX, Tom Marshall, Dustin "No Pants" Rogan (who I didn't recognize at first because he was wearing pants), Shawn Nelson, Max R. Wilson, Luis, Tim, and a host of other equally fantastic folks. I am sorry if I didn't list your name! Thank you all for such a great time.

I got back to the hotel well after 2 AM and tried to use this computr with free internet here to post but someone else was so I said "screw it" and came back down this morning. I will be off soon to head over to the BBQ and will update either there or when I get home. Someone needs this now so I'm off, probably much to your guys's delight I am sure :grin:
