Does shooting 24f in 1080i make it 1080p?

I was wondering, when shooting at 1080i but in 24 F/P does that footage become 1080p? Because you would be shooting 1080i but have progressive frames? Is it a drop in resolution, because I know Canon proprietary "progressive" does some weird thing with vertical resolution in order to achieve a progressive frame.

Canon 24F is imaged from interlaced sensors, but recorded as progressive. The net result is lower vertical resolution than Canon 1080i, but... as a practical matter, it's 1080/24p. Don't sweat it.

Where it can cause a problem is in editing though; some editors don't necessarily support the format, and no HDV decks can play it. You'd have to digitize from a Canon camcorder.

I am trying to capture using Quicktime Pro Native Device, footage shot as 30F from my A1. It is not working, It record the audio not the video. Any clue why and what would the solution be?
(I am using FCE 3.5 and don't want to AIC my footage for now)

Actually I think Sony just released a deck that supports 24F. I think their newest cam(s) record true 24P now so they've released a deck that can handle the format. The model/link eludes me now, maybe someone else can remember it?

Your right I believe the model number is m25 or m35. It's because the progressive out of the z7u is basically recorded the same way.
