THE STAGES OF A DVXUser FEST
A primer for New Members​

If you are new to DVXUser, its easy to get lost in the ongoing hype of Fests.
This simple 12 step guide will serve to break down the Fests into distinct cycles.
But be warned - while each Fest may break down into 12 steps, they can (and do) overlap.
So while one Fest may be in Stage 8, another may just be starting Stage 1.

Don't worry, with practice, you'll learn to see where in the flow of the fest you are - and soon you'll be jumping in with the best of them to ask....

  • STAGE 1: What is the next fest going to be?
  • STAGE 2: When will the rules be announced?
  • STAGE 3: When will the prizes be announced?
  • STAGE 4: Who's In??
  • STAGE 5: Check out my Poster!
  • STAGE 6: Is that (X) minutes WITH credits?
  • STAGE 7: Has everyone uploaded?
  • STAGE 8: When is viewing going to be open?
  • STAGE 9: How do we vote?
  • STAGE 10: Has everyone voted?
  • STAGE 11: When are the winners going to be announced?
  • STAGE 12: Congratulations to everyone!


Go back to Stage 1 and repeat as needed for future Fests.

... and Larry will only start checking the entries after the submission deadline is passed, so you don't get a 2nd try.



Larry can however be bribed with romantic heart shaped boxes of chocolates to drop hints on the rules.
(Hint: I hear he prefers darker chocolate...)

Barry S however only accepts bunches of roses.

You can't go back and make it 13 steps! That's bad luck! You will just have to skip to 14 steps (effectively ignoring the fact that, even if you call it "14" it's still the 13th step, but, hey, if you refuse to acknowledge that fact, it's not bad luck!)

Seriously? No rules except it has to be 6 minutes?

How loose can the "love" theme be?
 
I think "What are you shooting on?" has potential recently as well.

What happened to those four people that were supposed to shoot a Hallows Entry on Red, by the way? :)
