i have a Program A.Pack that came with my apple studio and it apears to be for suround sound but does anyone know exactly how it works and are their tutorials for it? Thanx.
It makes the AC3 audio files used in souround sound. Basically you mix down your tracks. So you have dialog comming mostly from center, left, right, Music Left, Right, Behind sounds coming from the back speackers and a base track. You export them as AIFF's and then Apack takes them and makes the AC3 file. It is easy to use just play around with it.
Whazza?? Errrr, like the guy above just said. Like, totally make audio tracks for center, left, right, surrounds, sub, etc. Do that in your timeline. Distribute sounds accordingly. Make it sound good. Export each track. Toss into a.pack, drizzle on some olive oil, a little crumbled goat cheese... wait...
I don't think 4.5 has surround capability, or at least, I've never seen it. I prefer to do my sound mixing in Digital Performer, usually a DAW (digital audio workstation) will give you better control and results over FCP.
