Who's a vegetarian?

You can still have tons of tasty dishes with a knowledge of cooking techniques, spices, sauces, etc. Plus, it opens up a whole world of experimentation with other culture's foods. Meat & potatoes, fried chicken, and pizza get a little boring after a while.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, it would probably make you expirement more with food, which is always good.

I'm Vegetarian. Around six months now. I was originally on an all raw foods diet for about a month and I felt better than I ever have. I had way more energy. I quit because it's difficult to eat out, and you have to prepare a meal all the time, it gets hard to make it varied. I was vegan for around two months.

I'd like to say the change was for environmental reasons, but it was purely for health.

Q!

Q!

Vegtables? That's what food eats.

In the words of Dr. Leon Spinks, "Abolutely!"

I love meat. Lamb is probably my favorite with pork and chicken a close second. Beef does tend to get boring as I find its flavor a bit bland after a while (except at those incredible Brazilian steakhouses, a meat lover's paradise). I like crustaceans, salmon, shark, halibut and swordfish...maybe a little bit of Ono but other than that, you can keep your fish.

My sister is a vegetarian, and I think she's crazy! I could NEVER live without meat!

Like Blaine, Lamb's my fave. Pork probably second, then beef, and then probably some fish... not a chicken fan (unless it's fried or bbq'd)

Have you guys tried Fresh Atlantic Salmon gently rubbed with Sea Salt, and grilled to perfection. It is unbelievable. Such a natural taste. What ever you do make sure its grilled with the skin on one side. It taste like you plucked it right out of the Ocean.

Bacon tastes good...pork chops taste good...

I was eating a vegetarian diet for about a year when i realized I was growing increasingly lactose intolerant, which effectively made me vegan too. very easy to do here in cali and during that time i was not overweight and never felt better. restaurants like real food daily and native foods in westwood were staples. a few years ago i moved in with my current girlfriend and our diets "merged". i eat animals now, but still avoid most dairy products. and she eats more vegetables than she used to. i'm still very selective about the animal products i consume knowing what I know about what's actually in them.

So what would you typically eat througout a day?

...all the rest.
Being vegetarian is easy to me, no effort, no problems. I vomit just seeing meat and fisn on my plate...

Many scientists (ok, science is like fashion, always changing..) agree that humans are not meant to eat meat and fish. Our digestive system is perfect for vegetarian habits, not for the rest.
But who cares? We are free. Each one can do what he wants with his stomach.

Yeah man, I love some pork products. Nothing like some sausage gravy and biscuits for breakfast. I am such a bad Jew...

Woah buddy, be carefull there :) similar types of "Scientific" claims have been pushed in the past, however these where clearly refuted in the International debate on vegetarianism that occured years ago [1]

let us all hopefully avoid fallling into FUD (Fear,Uncertainty,Disinformation)

A lot more scientist agree that humans are meant to eat everything. Not just vegetables. We have been hunters all the time. Like Chimpanzees or baboons.

But, who cares? Like you said. Everybody can eat what he/she wants.

One thing about being vegan is, that you really have to look out for what to eat. You really have to plan everything. Withouth meat and animal products you will be missing many important nutirents and minerals. It is not that easy to find those in only vegetables. Many people dont see that problem and have huges lacks.
