"Sleeper" by Matt Sconce and Mark Aro

This production looks fantastic. What more is there to say at this point except look forward to seeing it.

Thank you very much for you kind words they really are appreciated. We have a great deal of work ahead of us, but I am confident that when we finish 100%, that we will have something pretty cool.

We will post more soon.:dankk2:

Accidents Happen... Thankfully not DEATH!

Accidents Happen... Thankfully not DEATH!

Well last night we did some pick-up shots with Paige and Shane. We also had a minor accident that could've been much worse. All I can say is when you are using weapons stunt or not, you need to be aware and alert. If it wasn't for the quick responses and reaction from Shane, we could have been visiting him in the hospital or even the Morg. As it turns out, there was a little bloodshed, it was debatable whether he needs stitches, but we got him cleaned up and patched up. We offered to take him to the ER, but it looks like it wasn't necessary. We patched him up, gave him a bowl of ice-cream on top of home-maid brownies (thanks Hannah... my daughter) and he got back in front of the camera and did his stunt again, this time we took the precautions that we should've before and a couple shots later, he was headed home. Very crazy! My heart skipped a beat there for a minute... but in the end it all worked out. And we got it all on BTS.

:zombie_smiley::zombie_smiley::zombie_smiley: and :zombie_smiley:

To date, I think that this is only the second accident that we have had... knock on wood... the first one was Matt's dad backing down an alley with one of the HVX's and falling backwards over a generator. I yelled for him to stop, but we were inches away from the generator that he couldn't hear me. He want down on his shoulder and seperated it, but to his credit, he protected the camera and it came out unscathed. I wish we could say that for Matt's dad. He bounced back... finished the night, the next day and did it with flying colors. Thanks Gary... Thanks Shane. There are not words to describe you dedication and commitment. In the words of the Smother's Brothers... "You're Vicious, you just eat up PUMA'S!":thumbup:

To wrap it up... we got all of our pick up shots and we got a bunch of FX elements shot... which ROCK by the way (thanks Matt, you camera GURU you)! I am finishing a 3 month project for work and then I am full-time on SLEEPER!

YEAH BABY YEAH!!!!!!!!!

Glad you got your shots and Shane is okay. Sorry about Matt's dad, too. Can't wait to see your BTS footage, though. You guys have some crazy and exciting stories to tell.

Thanks Amy. Yeah, it was a little freaky at first... the dad in me kicks in and I become ultra protective, but it all worked out in the end. We will check on Shane today, but he should be fine. I did notice some blood spots on the drive-way this morning though. Nothing major, but it got out attention that's for sure. When Matt get's in today we'll discuss posting some picks. It might reveal a bit to much right now, but we'll see.

Hope your project is going well. I have been very heads down, so I haven't kept up much lately, I will have to cruise the list and see what's happening with everyone.

Hey I just had to stop in and say the production is worth the sacrifice! From what I saw during ADR, which by the way I completely lost my voice after that session, this is going to ROCK!

Wow. I am glad that the accidents were relatively minor. Yikes! Sorry to hear about that. But I am SO HAPPY to hear that the HVX didn't suffer any injury!!! :)

You guys have got me so anxious to see your film!!!

Best,

Ted

Thanks TED... Sorry to here about the trials that you have been dealing with... I do like you screen grabs! Good luck on getting the sun to cooperate for the final shots.

Yep... I agree! Glad to hear that you are doing well. Oh and by the way. WE looked at the jump footage and it WAY ROCKS!!! WE put the shots of you and Paige in the rough cut and it is just what the doctor ordered!!!!!

BTW... for anyone reading this... SHANE is not only one of the stars but he really stepped up to the plate (without being asked) during shooting and made a real difference as a key member of our crew. He is a cinematographer and lighting guru as well and not only did he help Matt in that department, but he also contributed some of the lights and equipment which we ended up using all of ours and his. Thanks again brother!

Glad you still have your thumb!!!

Hey you guys, the BTS stuff looks like you have a major project happening. I can't wait to see it. I'm a long way from have tents up for anything being that I like to work with a very small crew but it definitely looks impressive. The shots you posted look good too, a much different look than stricken. Good luck with this.

What are you talking about. There's not time for crusing...you've got VFX shots to finish.

Now get back to work!!!!

I'm definitely enjoying following the entries in this thread...it's almost as good as being an actual part of the team. Lot's of great info and great photos.

I'm really looking forward to this project. Keep up the great work.

Thanks! Our skeleton crew that we usually work with is about 6-7 people. We just happened to have our families with us. :) We are into the VFX now and I must say that this will definitely look different than Stricken. We shot it knowing what VFX we needed and the end result will be in another league. The project keepes getting biger as we go. Snowballing into something truly exciting. Even though we have to cut out some stuf to get it down to a 6 minute cut, I am sure, it will still rock. I am excited to release the full cut sometime after the contest, as it will have more to it.

OUCH! you sound like MATT!!!!

no just kidding! He is being very patient! But he did just buy some new weapons..... oh CRAP! :zombie_smiley:

thanks for the props... every bit helps especially when sleep deprivation and exhaustion set in... Man it would rock to be doing this as a full-time job instead of fitting it around 50-60 hour work weeks.

SOME DAY EH!!!:)

I plan to win lotto then quit my dayjob.

Sleeper's looking awesome btw.
Thanks man!

Yeah, I'd do that too, but I am to cheap to play the LOTTERY... besides I play the LOTTERY OF ME... I figure every buck I put into my craft has a better chance of paying off than the lottery....

At least that's what I keep telling myself! :Drogar-Evil(DBG):

BTW cool pic!

Actually I don't play lotto either. Maybe I should rethink my retirement strategy.

Looking awesome guys.

Sorry to hear about your injury, but looking forward to this one big time.

Major production indeed.

Thanks Jack... that means a lot to both of us!

We are very happy with what we have to date and if all goes well, we should be equally as pleased with the VFX. There is no question that music and sfx will rock. We do suspect that there will be a significant amount of tweaking/polish after submission (on the VFX side of things) , but we are confident that it will be a good 6 minutes!

Thanks again for the props. :)

Wowza, with the production value that's gone into this one, it should be flat out amazing. This fest has several that are looking like they could be stand outs, but this one is certainly at the head of the pack from at least the pre-visualizations of the actual film.
