I think it is more important to get great camera, which is the case here I believe, than to get it on schedule. Take all time you need RED team to make us happy.

D&G, you know what's our opinion on your avatars.. hmmmm.. that's why you quoted her, yes or no?.. eheheh

the point is not the man.. i'm unsuspicious because i'm in loooooooove with this jim.. if there is who doubts, search and read my posts.. eheheh.. they're a lot..

first, the point.. the viewpoint..

second, these 'ass kissers'.. they're leaving space likely it happens in some countries of south america.. and it's not a quote related to your gorgeous braz.. i don't need to say more than that.. but beyond that, there is the attitude.. that's what counts..

just my opinion..

BANG, BANG................BANG!

I'm not worried if Jim doesn't hit early 07. In fact, I'd prefer more of a Q3 timeframe because I know him and his team are working their asses off and every month of dev and test is making this product more solid. So please Jim, just get the camera right and slip however much the actual product needs.

I totally agree. My biggest concern is that Jim ends up feeling "honour bound" to deliver by NAB and does so but at the expense of ironing out all wrinkles. I would much prefer to have a solid camera delivered a bit later. I am trusting that this is Jims position too, as by all accounts he is a bit of a perfectionist. ... It is great to be kept up to date with current status though, whatever that is.

back to the topic..

i respect your opinions but i think you're giving some space to some delay.. frankly if jannard himself didn't have posted today on this, i'd say this camera would be out Q3 or even later.. imo, you're doing a bad job because it seems something will delay the delivery..

i don't know when jim posted on april timeline but he hasn't been delaying anything.. and because his statements i believe him (if not, reading you i'll be out definitely.. so please don't take me away of this deal.. i'm not kidding)

on the other side, i'm not alone and other people would go with me.. and i send all the compliments to the silicon gang (ari, jason, etc) but i wouldn't like to change of route and board..

I remember what I could read in the cinematography.com boards when Stephen Williams (the double poster there and here) posted that had exchanged cards with Jim Jannard at IBC and probably he already knew who he was. And Mr. Jannard (with courteous manners but teased before after several invectives at cinematography.com) says: I have no idea. There were a lot of people who exchanged cards with me...

Hi Gordon,

Jim wanted clarification that I had been an IBC and viewed the footage.

The guy has said they are on schedule. He's also stated from the very beggining in big bold letters -> no dates are set in concrete. I don't know how much clearer than that he can be.

(...)

This thread is a wee bit of a tempest in a teapot (as me Nan used to say).

To summarize - On schedule - Flexible timeline. Chill and enjoy the season.

Obrigado...
I like when you sums. If you were a soccer player wou would be a Cristiano Ronaldo. I said: Cristiano Ronaldo. That pop quote rocks. Nan knows what she's talking about.

I fully agree. We are on schedule. All of us. RED team, RED ONE delivery, ALL the RED customers. And we need all of them.

I like Jim. It's easy to conclude this man is special (hey, and I'm not an ass kisser ). Wise words seeing all the perspectives. It's not a surprise to understand why he arrived where he is.

We need his vision. I believe after this night/thread he will stay more informed regarding all needs. Information is required. Yes, of course. And he has given all of the details we need on the delivery and development.

For a few, the development is very relevant. For others the release is more important yet. It's normal. We aren't the same. We don't think the same. Different backgrounds, different projects, different needs.

I agree: more than everything the information is a requirement. Keep us informed, we'll be over these boards.

How is anyone kissing ass by asking Jim to please take his time to get the camera right? It seems that most of us would rather have it right than right away. Personally, I really really hope that Red is still allowing enough time to make lots of changes if necessary based on feedback from lots of prototypes in the field. If that means delivery later on in 2007 then that's fine with me. If you're saying that you expect it by NAB because of Jim's word, then you're misinterpreting his word. Is this giving him space to delay? Absolutely, if that's what it takes to get our baby dialed in.

If you read well, it's not difficult to get why it is there.

Hi Gordon,

Somehow I thing it gets lost in the translation. "Dec is here, what is the status on production?"

Merry Christmas
