Matt Sconce- Stricken

AWESOME! FANTASTIC! SUPERB!

Leo never ceases to amaze me. He has the chops, that's for sure. The opening sequence makes me think of Edward Scissorhands, only a bit more serious. As the music progresses you can hear the horror mounting and when it hits that music box sound a little past the mid-point...AAAAUUUGGHHH!! Freaks me out!

Big kudo's to Leo on this one...it definitely matches what we've seen of your film so far. Now I REALLY can't wait to see this (come on, hook a brotha' up with a sneak peak already   )

Peace,
Larry

cool.
out of context like that I see young sharon stone in large sunglasses and turbin riding up the hill of some mountain in a convertable with her scarf billowing behind her neck ... you know ... with a few helicopter shots.
great music.

Update:
Leo is getting me the final score on the 29th!! That is great but then it is crunch time to render and optimize for the web. I am meeting with the sound engineer tomorrow to perfect the sound. This should be good. Sound is my weakness:crybaby: , and this will solve that problem:Drogar-Evil(DBG): .

everybody's work is looking so good, professional. it's a bit intimidating

i had a bit of trouble with my score. i did it myself in 5 min =)

Looking cool. The depth of filed looks really good. My brother's been learning to use the M2 from redrock and we managed to shoot a few scenes with it.

Matt, my friend, here's your compliment for the day: I've heard from more than one person that they're glad you're exhibition only. :)

Granted, they're only stills & there's so much more to a film than just camera work (story, performances, directing, editing/flow, sound, etc.), but just on the visuals you've shared already, folks are glad they're not competing against you.

Not that you need a pick-me-up, but wanted to share it nonetheless.

You had mentioned on the previous page that you used 3 1000 watt lights? What brand were they and isn't that way too much lighting? I would think that could light Yankee stadium with that, lol. I'm so used to using low low wattages, maybe I should be using more? Thanks.

I'm not sure about the M2, but I know the Letus35Flip uses a LOT of light. We consistently had 3 1K's going on SPARROW, and at times had up to 4K watts of light going for a scenes, and possibly still could have used more, depending on how wide the shot was.

Besides, I've learned that I'd rather over light to a degree than under light ... easier to crush in post than to try & lighten a scene after the fact & bring in artifacting.

Not sure what lights Matt's using, but I got a KILLER light kit from Amvona.com's Ebay store ... travel case, 3 1K lights with lots of extra 1K & 500 watt bulbs, TALL & sturdy stands with caster wheels, softboxes with diffusers, grids, etc. ... for about $425!! One of my best investments ever. Tungsten 3200 color temp, but still an unbeatable value.

K, back to STRICKEN, but hope that helps re: your light question.

Thanks for that! *puffs out chest and watches self esteem rise* :)

Envision is abslutely correct. The Adapters need a TON more lighting. I got my set from e-bay and it is Britek. I have had some issues with the tightners stripping but over all they are amazing lights for the price! 400-500 dollars for a set. It is always better to overlight and then bring down in post if you are attempting to eliminate video noise. You just have to make sure you are still exposing correctly.

UPDATE: I just got back from meeting with the sound engineer. I did wonders for the audio of the dialogue!!!

UPDATE: I am doing balancing now on sound levels and such and the score is in for sure tomorrow so I can put everything together! Check out some of these CCd grabs never before seen in the thread!

Yawn ... Eh, I've seen better.

Kidding of course (again) ... amazing work. I SO wish I'd known about that noise removal filter for AE ... gosh it's incredible how much it improves the footage! Thankfully the grain kind of worked for ours, but if I'd had this at my disposal, I'd have used it in a second.

I know what you mean. It always seems that when I make a movie, I find out some way to improve everything after I have finished it. For example. I knew NOTHING about sound editing when I made Nine to Five Ninja and so I did somethings that made it seem un natural and tinny. People introduced me to the world of compressors in Adobe Audition after I had released it.

You are right about Sparrow though. The grain did work. Were you using static adapters?
